I really must vent about this absolutely redicoulous piece of garbage of a school. First of all we only have 5 mins to get between classes. Second they lock the Ahern Street entrance yeah the one with the bridge in fact for all 1700 of us we only have two doors to enter through. Third we have a parking problem. Actually no- the school had a problem with us parking in the parking lot even know there was always enough room for everyone but oh no It wasn’t good enough and thanks to the droves of Hospital employees who park on Ahern us students have no where to park. I guess the parking lot near the rear entrance you know the always gated off waste of perfectly good parking space. and last of the staff are irritating and spy on the smokers making sure nobody stands under the unused rear ahern level entrance to smoke. last of all this school is as borring as they come and I think they built it with the cheapest crap they could possibly get. Like the super budget level elevator which constantly beeps and clunks and has all the quality of a 70’s pinto. Did I mention the elevator is not for general student use HA do you really think your going to give me 5 minutes to crawl up three flights of stairs in crowded stairways and hallways? Back to the parking issue Why is it that the old school which was built in the 1950’s!!! had enough parking for everyone but there you have it they don’t care about you one bit. And heres a interesting tidbit. They only decided to air condition the office, cafeteria, and gym which are the only areas the public normally see’s can u say cheap! I guess its all about PR there. The classrooms are either cold or hot most of the time and in the fall they were terribly warm. but who cares about the teachers and the students the main reason the school was SUPPosedly built in the first place. Another screw up for Halifax they are really piling up these days ain’t they?

  1. I definitely feel for you. we had the same fucking problems at the old schools, nice to see that they spent a whole lot of money on improving the building but fuck improving the life of students. we used to have to fight over the like 20 parking passes they sold each semester so that hospital employees could park in our lot. i felt like our entire education, the hospital was looking over at us saying “god, just leave already, we need that historical educational institution for very important parking!!!!!!” because god forbid they have to PAY for it at the hospital lot. im not saying you have nothing to complain about, bc you really do, but think about the stuff you’re getting that we never got, such as doors on bathroom stalls, ceilings free of rotting dead animal carcasses, enough lockers that they dont become a commodity, windows that open AND shut, so trust me when i say things can get much worse, and they will. but you’ll be able to say “i was there when it was at it’s nicest” and it wont be a lie. the rest of us only have our memories of a school that we loved but was like an old, cranky, half-dead grandma that doesnt get why your dad “married a whore” and hates you.

  2. what i wanna know is why we now have 5 brand new plasma, flat screen tvs or what ever the hell you wanna call them and yet we still have an unfinished auditorium, problems with the fountains and the toilets dont flush in the girls bathrooms half the time. can anyone PLEASE explain that to me. and god forbid that piece of shit school ever did catch on fire while classes were goin on, anyone on the third floor and half the people on the second would die in the fire cuz it takes 15 mins to get from top to bottom during a drill.

  3. That’s what you get when you have govt bureaucrats who don’t give a damn about anything except when their next break happens involved in the design & specification, and when you have it built by a low-bid contractor. That’s why all govt buildings are crap these days.

  4. First – 5 minutes is more than enough time to walk up a few flights of stairs, I managed to when I went to high school and I managed to walk a few blocks in 10 minutes while at university. It’s called being physically fit.Second – you are not entitled to a parking space, you are entitled to an education. Take the bus or walk.Third – smoking is prohibited within 5 metres of building entrances and completely prohibited on school property…get over it and quit. You aren’t old enough to legally smoke anyway.Forth – of course the elevator is not for general student use, it wasn’t at my high school either. Divided the student population by the number of students who fit in the elevator and multiply by the time it takes for the elevator and it will illustrate one reason that it is not for general student use…oh and see the first comment…get off your lazy ass and walk up the stairs.A few final comments – schools are not required to be air conditioned, deal. The auditorium is unfinished because the government is not funding it…you want a finished auditorium, get off your lazy whiny ass and help fund raise.Go study and quit bitching about nothing!

  5. how many grades have you failed so far? why the fuck are you worried about air conditioning in April? notice how you didn’t have to wear a jacket inside the school in january? that’s a fucking upgrade from Q.E. As for parking – if you go to citadel you live on the peninsula, if you live on the peninsula you drive because you choose to do so because you are spoiled, or lazy, or both, it’s a halfhour walk tops, to get to citadel from anywhere on the peninsula, so get off your fat ass. And maybe if you weren’t out smoking on the ahern st. bridge, the five minutes would be more than enough time to get between classes, like it is for everyone else.

  6. gotta love when minors that arent supposed to smoke complain about the area they have to smoke in. THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD MAKE A BIGGER AREA AND OUTTA THE TEACHER’S VIEW FOR ME TO SMOKE AT MY SCHOOL !!!!!what kinda fucked up logic is that?Ps, architects…… dont add a smoking pit into school designs kids.
