I Take my wife and kids out to dinner once a week. We try new places and despite possitive reviews from the Coast you need to post a sign stating you do not want children to dine there. Many chain restaraunts like our businees but if you would accomodate families you may make more money. We have worked in the industry, talk to other parents and don’t appreciate lack of service/menu flexibility for the “not so trendy.” I will spread the word and let parents know how CHILD-UNFRIENDLY you are. Fuck you for ruining my night out. —-The Bronx

  1. I have kids BUT there are some nights I would like to go to a quiet “adult friendly” restaurant to get away from it all so to speak….I expect shit loads of screaming kids when I frequent certain establishments but sometimes I would LOVE a quiet night with no munchkins, mine or anyone elses!!

  2. I’d say take it a step further, Along with “No Smoking” “No Parking” and “No Left Turns”, we make “No Children” “Maximum 2 Youth” and “No Infants” signs mandatory for not only restaurants, but stores, theatres and every place single/childless people go.That way I’ll know which place I want to eat, shop, see a movie.

  3. I don’t have a problem with people taking their kids out to public establishments as I am a parent myself, but sometimes a 6 month old colicky baby, isn’t who I want to spend my romantic dinner with my date with.I tried to be considerate and thoughtful when my kids were younger and I had them out in public, not everyone likes kids and not everyone has kids so I didn’t want to push my kids behavior on others in public, so I would try to get a sitter or try to make sure my kids knew how to be respectful and at least quiet when other people were dining.

  4. I love lizyorke’s idea but the signs would get ignored just like the no pet signs at grocery stores. Nothing worse than Paris Hilton-wannabees with their dogs drooling onto the food from that stupid fucking handbag carrier.
