I had a blast in Chester a couple ago but when it came time to have a drink with fellow sailers at the boat club, I was surprised to see that it looked more like a frat house. I know the town of Chester likes the money that Race Week brings in but, how can they turn a blind eye to so many under-aged over-served kids?! How can the fire department allow a place to be packed well beyond capacity with drunken children? This is an accident waiting to happen and no one will be able to say they din’t know what was going on. The RCMP were huddled at the entrance but, ignoring the fact that NO ONE was being checked for I.D’s. Shame on you Chester! —Race guy

  1. MANY CHESTERS

You must remember that there are many Chesters. There is the established old money Chester of the Peninsula and there are all the rest. Do not confuse the two. Your experience with the rabble at the “boat club” indicates that you have done just that.

    A pleasure as always.

    Cheerio!

  2. This is not about a clash of rich against poor. Many of the drunken teenagers represent both ends of the economic scale. If I wanted to have drinks spilled on me by teenagers; I would join a frat house. Why do the rules apply to the bars downtown but not to the boat clubs?
