I’m fairly certain that no one has mentioned the cruelty that the homeowners of Chebucto Road are experiencing in watching their front yards get removed so that HRM can not only encourage MORE vehicles to be on the road, but also build a MERIDIAN in the centre of the street…..hmm…..so the yards have been moved to the middle of the road. What brilliant mastermind is behind this sorry waste of taxpayer’s money? I’m truly horrified. Please tell me the meridian is not staying…..good gawd almighty.

Yeah I saw that too and thought the same thing the other day. What is the purpose of it? There are sidewalks (will be) on either side of the road and they have like a 3.4 foot wide meridian going straight down the road.Is this like some kind of magical pathway so the panhandlers have somewhere to stand?It’s a bloddy waste of space and a slap the the face of the homeowners who lost their property.
I saw that and I wondered the same thing. Tim: You should prod this cow again (cash-cow that is…)! They were supposed to be done 3 weeks ago (on the 12th of September). No pavement, curbs aren’t done, I don’t see any lights. Over time, likely over budget. WTF was the point of replying to a tender with a timeline of 10 weeks and not being able to finish it. Basin contracting (I think that was the name) clearly doesn’t know what they are doing.
A meridian is a line of longitude, a median is a divider in a highway or a street. just thought id point that out. but i couldnt agree with you more, its ridiculous.
