I’m with amber light I work in health care and nobody tips me when I write a prescription. Perhaps if OP feels so offended at not being tipped he could take pictures and put them up on a bulliten, I wouldn’t mind having my photo there, it’s been my experiance that the servers who bitch are the worst servers.By the way I generlly tip even poor service simply because I was raised that way

What kills me is how every time I go to a certain hair salon they openly bitch to me about how certain clients didn’t tip them properly.I stopped going there.Also: not to defend any of the self entitled assbag servers who go on here and bitch about not getting tipped, but just because you get an education, doesn’t mean you’ll get a job with it — maybe this deserves it’s own bitch, but getting an education is often a big fat waste of time.
I don’t expect tips, but it’s certainly a welcome custom, especially since after paying more than $30,000 for my education there are no jobs in my field that pay well. In fact, I still work in hospitality to make ends meet because the job situation otherwise is terrible. You’re right pretty kitty. Education is a waste of money. It’s a big fat lie that university educated make more money. Well if they stay in N.S. anyway where you take what you get and are expected to be grateful for it.
ok you know what I am sooo sick of hearing about fucking tips. Your lucky to get them even .50 cause you know what the customer does not have to, is not required, and should not be expected to tip your sorry asses that get paid already to do your fucking job. Yes min wage…that what people at gas stations, fast food places, retail shops etc…suck it up and stop your crying cause the rest of us don’t care, if anything your only pissing off the ones that do tip well.
ok, i’ve been trying to stay out of this, because its so fucking stupid, but i’m a server, and i’m sick to death of these bitches. you’re making us look bad. some people don’t tip, or tip very little. who cares? most people tip at least tax. some people tip way more than that. it all evens out. if everyone is leaving you nothing or next to it, then the problem is you. get better at your job, or get a better job, then you will make more money. simple. as for tipping in general – it may feel like it should be the employers job to pay better, but thats not going to happen, for many reasons, stupid and sensible which i’d rather not pick apart. whether you leave a tip, or there is an automatic service charge like in many places in europe, or prices just straight out increase, it will come out of the consumers pocket somehow. shitty, but true. i for one appreciate control over what i pay for service – if i get it you will know, and if i don’t….well, as the OP so astutely established, you will also know. point is, shut the f up, all of you who are complaining about tips. you’re ruining things for the rest of us that take this job seriously, are good at it and grateful for it.
