This is the 5th time in the past month that you’ve blown me off. Every week, we made plans for the weekend and they fell through every time because of something that came up on your part. I believed you every time you said you weren’t feeling good, or that you were visiting family out of town, etc. But then I found out you were just avoiding me. Last weekend, we had plans to go out for some drinks, then you said you don’t really like going out to clubs that much anymore. So I suggested several other options of where to go or to stay home or not even drink at all, just hang out. Then you say you’re too tired. This made no sense to me and my gut was telling me you weren’t telling the truth. Because you weren’t! You went out… with other people! Don’t like going out anymore, my ass. And why were you stupid enough to show pictures of your awesome night on facebook? I would obviously see it! Where did this all come from? You couldn’t get enough of my company before, now you want nothing to do with me… wtf gives?! —Kiss this Friendship Goodbye

Yeahhhh people can get weird like that, and it’s a huge piss off because OH HAY my time isn’t valuable at all. I can’t freaking stand it when people make plans with you only to cancel for some reason and either don’t tell you or don’t tell you till the last minute OR someone else tells you for them.
Obviously, OP, this person doesn’t want to be your friend. Life’s like that and it’s perfectly within one’s rights to not want to be friends with someone anymore. I don’t know about you but I don’t want to force anyone to be my friend — either do it by your own free will or piss off. However, the way this person is doing this makes this a totally valid bitch. You deserve the simple respect of having this person say “hey, look, I don’t think I want to continue this friendship, but good luck in the future.” Alas, most people don’t have the balls to do that.
“hey, look, I don’t think I want to continue this friendship, but good luck in the future.”
I’ve never had a formal friendship breakup…
because really there isn’t any commitment that needs to be enforced.
people sure can be dicks about it… and I have as well…
You’re going to meet plenty of people and friends will come and go, such is life.
If this was actually dating and not just friends, he/she is no longer interested. I suspect that is the reality.
“This is the 5th time in the past month that you’ve blown me off.” Giggity. 😛
“friends”
I’ve never had a formal friendship break up either, Zed, but this asshole is dicking their “friend” around. Now, I would’ve gotten the point way before the fifth blow off, but the asshole should obviously be aware that OP hasn’t a clue that they are trying to dump the friendship and in that case you just have to cut the shit and just say “I don’t wanna be friends no’ mo.” I think OP deserves at least that much since they really didn’t get it from the non verbal comms.
Friends do come and go. I have a few friends who I can go without seeing for months or even years and it’s like no time has passed. Those friends won’t blow you off. And you will meet new people, and you’ll click with some of them immediately. I met my best friend’s sister in law two weeks ago and we just spent the weekend together and we’ve decided to be honorary sisters-in-law. It’s seriously like we’ve been friends all our lives. And just last month I had no clue who she was! 🙂
Stop making plans with this person.
I broke up with a friend. It was actually quite liberating. We’d been growning apart, and I’d tried to phase her out but it just wouldn’t take.
She’d always make cracks and get little digs in about people, myself included and one night flat out told me that I was lucky my father’s insurance had covered a (very small) part of my student debt. When I questioned what she’d said she didn’t get it *at all*. “I just mean, you’re lucky to have that. Not all of us get our debt taken care of. Not all of us are that lucky.”
I’m sorry, lucky? I’m watching my dad fall apart bit by bit from primary progressive MS and the *only* positive my family’s seen is less than a quarter of my debt being covered by his insurance. You’re right. That *is* lucky. Bitch.
I even tried talking to her, explaining from my point of view how that wasn’t lucky and that I’d gladly make payments on any amount to have a healthy dad- but nope. I was still lucky.
Life is nicer now that I don’t have to try and censor all my conversations with her. 🙂
OP- Just take the (obvious hint is obvious) hint and vamoose.
They obviously have no interest in you, so you don’t even need to let them know why you’re not going to call them.make more future plans.Just move on.
Good luck, and have fun!
Ah…*growing apart.
OP you got blown off 5 times and you’re still wasting time on this person writing this bitch? Get a life – go get new better friends – take the hint after 3 times at the most. Stop investing anymore times/thoughts/emotions and walk away!
Cannatell: ugh that’s awful and such a tacky thing to say!!! My mom tells me that her life insurance is going to me and I can use part of it to pay my loans off all the time and I always tell her I’d rather make student loan payments and have her here than no students loans and her not here. What a fucking bitch that “friend” of yours is!
And Miss RC’s right — except I’ll let it go two times and then I’ll stop making plans with you and if you want to see me, you can make the effort. If not, well then buh bye!
I like the way you think Brendon ;D
lol Thanks, mel. 😉
sometimes o.p., getting blown can be good. i will have one for the road please.
orgasmatron your comments rip, and you always say the right words in any posts,
DTMFA OP, it’s not worth your time.
Find a new friend.
Move ta fuck on
He or she is just not into you but you can’t take the hint. Some people can’t or won’t say it’s over, that’s life. Speaking of life, get on with yours.
