To the North End catnapper,
thanks so much for abducting my cat off the street today, ignoring the fact that she has a collar (a glamorous one at that) and is clearly not a stray. You claim you see her outside “24/7”, she’s a fucking outdoor cat you dunce. We never let her outside after dark or when the weather’s really bad, so that’s clearly a lie. You also claim that you couldn’t get close enough to read her collar but you were able to carry her to the cat hospital? Right. She’s energetic, and puffy and fluffy like a well-fed beast, you had no reason to be concerned. I don’t need anymore terrifying calls from the cat hospital. Kindly mind your own business, we can raise my baby on our own. —Veronica and the Pigeons

  1. Keep your goddamned cat in the house! THey may be “well fed” but that doesn’t satisfy their hunting instinct and them little fuckers will kill just for the sake of it. Pisses me off, if you don’t have that mahfucka on a leash, you’re a fucking irresponsible pet owner, and probably the first stupid fuck on “live at 5” when the little bird killer gets snared.

  2. i’m not gonna get into an outdoor/indoor debate, i would have a house full of cats if i brought in every outdoor cat. i know who they belong to and they seem well cared for and most couldn’t catch a cold let alone a bird but i keep my guy indoors

  3. If he so much as TRIED to touch my cat, I’d cut off his balls (tits if female)!

And bullet dear, stop believing everything the media tells you. It’s exaggerated rhetoric; they rely solely on spectacle and over-simplification.

Instead of reporting events from a distance and providing an accurate account, it is just manipulating information for its own ends – selling advertising to make a profit.

My cat, along with all the neighbours cats, has been trying for YEARS and has yet to get a bird and failed.

Now fuck off with this cat/bird nonsense.

  4. my crows catch mice outside and the cat catches them in the house. none left in the house

  5. Haha.. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with having an out door cat as long as your in the right neighborhood.. No one should be picking up cats with collars on..

  6. Nothin’ wrong with havin’ cats out in the barn …. that’s what ther’ for. Having them in the house shitting in a box & puking on the furniture, is just damn gross.

  7. i’ve seen similar bitches over the years, apparently there is a real cat crazy northender

  8. OB, if you love it so much, then why allow it outside without a leash? You are asking for it to be catnapped, run over by a vehicle, killed by another animal or sadistic human. Of course there is nothing wrong with a cat pissing and shitting on the property of others or destroying property or attacking kids.

  9. Cats can catch some birds obviously and their impact on bird populations is a hotly debated topic. What isn’t debated is the impact on animals that don’t fly.. mice, shrews, moles, chipmunks, squirrels, weasels etc. The carnage is great amongst that population. Keep fluffy indoors.

  10. Indoor cats are an abomination. All the awful things about humanity manifest themselves in cat people. The shrew population? The fuck? I can’t justify the unnaturalness of the batshit insane stir crazy cats I have seen over the years, their existence nothing more than a comfort to emotionally fragile people. BUT HE LOVES MEEEEE!
Maybe, but man is he fucked in the head from never having gained traction running on wood floors his whole life.

  11. I love people who let their cats roam… they allow me to save money… cheaper than ground beef 🙂

  12. ugh OP.. i agree with you. There are lots of schools of thought on letting cats outside. They SHOULD go outside because it’s healthy and they love it. The city is NOT a safe place but if your cat is safe and savvy then she should be fine.

Chances are this person had the cat’s best interest in mind and is one of those “cats should never go outdoors ever” people… It’s not right. But the person wasn’t doing it to hurt you, I’m sure.

I hope you got her back.

  13. Holy fuck, keep your cat in the house. 1) Unlike dogs, you cannot train them to stay in the yard, so unless you leash them up outside (also not advisable) they will generally wreak havoc on private property and local wildlife. 2) Indoor cats are the safest cats. Do you not love your beloved kitty enough to keep him/her safe?

  14. It’s worse in a rural setting. More parasites and diseases for fluffy to catch from feral cat populations not to mention wildlife the cats might prey on. Raccoons and coyotes take their on cats. Just keep the damn cat indoors! Unless on a leash or at the least, a freakin’ bell around their neck. Anyway…

  15. Your wandering kitty walks into my yard, I’ll fill it’s ass with pellets, reason enough to keep your cat by your side. I don’t want or like cats, and I’m not going to clean up after them, unless it involves burying them.

  16. If only the province enforced its animal cruelty laws, maybe there’d be less filth like Bullet around. Troll/12 year old.

  17. Outdoor cats are prone to a whole host of dangers. Indoor cats are SO much healthier, over all. They are cleaner and don’t require as many shots. I would NEVER let my cats outside because I’d be terrified of what could happen to them.

And take it from someone who just lost her kitteh: indoor cats live longer and losing a kitteh before its time is AWFUL. A cat can’t get taken, run over, get injured by other animals and won’t be at risk for diseases as feline leukemia from exposure to other animals if it’s kept inside.

  18. One of my INDOOR cats has caught and eaten 3 birds (that’s how many beaks or feet I’ve found on the bathroom floor anyway) and caught, brought in and played with 3 chipmunks (or 1 really stupid one) which I caught and released. I built an enclosure that the cats get to through a window and down a ramp. The birds and rodents come right on in through the chicken wire! So, apparently it’s all or nothing!

I prefer to think that most folks can decide for themselves whether where they live is appropriate for their cat to be in or out. As long as they’re spay/neut.

  19. reg, answering the posh comment here, since it’s more relevant here, that’s why i am waiting til i get my own island before i gather to me bosom a dozen cats. there will be no closed doors in that happy place. i may draw the line with the goats and peacocks coming into the house, but the dogs and cats will be free to come and go at will. i already feed dozens of wild birds, 365, to make sure they are healthy enough to skedaddle. my ‘yard’ squirrel as well. fantasy island wildlife will be fed as well. of the dozens of cats i have had in my life only 1 hunted. my old booger-nose was friend to all, including mice, raccoons and birdies. he did hunt twigs & chunks of cedar mulch, no idea why. but would bring them into the house with his deep throaty growl of victory.

  20. even in the city there is much wildlife, there was a bee in the house this morning^^plus we saw a raven, freaking huge compared to the corbies

  21. they are so sweet and smart, those little hands. i haven’t seen one since we left ontario

  22. And then the cat, who is lounging in the enclosure, grabs them and brings them in the house. I now have plexiglass over the entry so I can do a mouth check before they’re allowed back inside.I shouldn’t say they. Only one of them does it.

  23. Please note, to be fair. that the cat pictured here is not the bird eater / chipmunk tormentor in question.

  24. He’s a cop. You really gotta spell it out for him. Right, Tim? Ya supersleuth!!!

  25. dude, if i found a beak on my bathroom floor i would be WAY more freaked out when I wake up at 4 am and find my Turnip staring at me intently from two inches away.

  26. at least you get a couple inches… if I’m sleeping in too late, I get nose-on-nosed.
My guy hasn’t caught anything more than moths and flies but that’s only because he’s strictly indoors. Were I to let the panther loose, we’d lose birds n mice like crazy.
He’s vicious…. and if you don’t believe me, you should see my hand.
    He plays rough.

  27. If my new girly-cat hasn’t been fed by 6am she starts trolling for vegetation. My poor plants are taking a beating. She’s barely 6lbs and eats more than The Big Guy (all 25lbs of him) and My Doodlebug COMBINED.

It’s unreal how much this cat eats!
