Rented a car for one day at the airport.
Charges on my card are now more than double the quote.
Now starts the battle to get my money back.

  1. Did you return it on time? No? Then there’s an additional day charged. Did you return it to the same location? No? There’s a drop charge for that. Did you fill the tank? They charge over $2.50/L if the refuel it. Did you accept Insurance? Full Insurance doubles the cost of the rental. Did you calculate taxes and AC charges? They have those too. Are you a first time renter and you didn’t realize there are charges for renting a car? Should I continue to ask obvious questions or do you realize now that you’re just a dummy?

  2. Someone OBVIOUSLY didn’t read the fine print.

You likely got a quote for rental fee, only, OB. I’m sure if you read your rental agreement, you’ll find all the extra charges are listed in the paperwork you signed when you picked the car up. Just because you didn’t read the agreement fully, doesn’t mean you didn’t agree to pay it.

  3. Mafucka’s are always pulling this crap. We drove down to Niagara Fall’s two weekends ago and stayed at the Embassy Hilton. Turns out they put a “destination marketing fee” on your bill on top of every other sleazy fee. Well the “tourist tax” as the locals call it is actually voluntary and you don’t have to pay.

Fine prints a bitch, OB. And for all we know we could be candidates for the next human centiPad based on the fine print no one reads.

    A pleasure as always,

    Cheerio!

  5. Expedia has always been hassle free for my car booking needs – and usually a better price than they can give you at the counter. In fact, often the counter people look at the rate I booked with shock as it is so low…

  6. Go ahead, waste more time trying to get money back for a service you paid for as spelled out in the rental agreement. Gowan, call everyone involved. Argue and stomp your feet. Come back and let us know how this played out for you including the amount of time spent on ”the battle” to get reimbursed. ** Eye Roll **
