but apparently smoking is permissible. After smokers have the right to trigger asthma attacks, right? Shame on Capital Health for refusing to enforce their own rules. It’s too bad the walking public has to walk through clouds of smoke when trying to enter the building. And forget about using a bus shelter on Summer Street. Those are the property of the QEII staff for smoking lounges. —ferretgurl

Timbits? Those greasy little spheres of pure fat are virtually impossible to light up.
Oh poor baby. What about exhaust fumes? Maybe we should ban vehicles from hospital grounds.
Ah the hospital Timmie’s, the only Timmie’s that operates at a huge loss.
OB, the Health Authority operated several famous coffee chain locations that operated at a loss of millions of dollars, supplemented by health care dollars, due mostly to unionized coffee shop workers driving the costs up.
The coffee shop was due to be replaced with a dialysis unit.
You don’t need your greasy balls of fat.
“Timbits? Those greasy little spheres of pure fat are virtually impossible to light up.”
True, but they do work OK for knife hits.
I think OB’s referring to the fact that they stopped selling the cookies and donuts/timbits at the Tim Hortons there (and all the ‘fatty’ foods). What was hilarious is that the muffins they continued to sell have more fat and calories than a donut or a couple of timbits.
Even on Weight Watchers, you can have a donut – in fact it’s one of the lowest point values that Tim Hortons offers.
Also, dwight- what gives you the right to tell anyone what they need and don’t need? Even I, as a diabetic, will indulge in a couple of timbits on occasion and I just got released from my endocrinologist’s care because my diabetes is completely under control and there was nothing more he could do for me. So, if a few timbits here or there isn’t hurting me, who gives a shit if someone else has one? Better than eating a so called ‘healthy’ muffin.
And the smoking on capital health property is getting out of control. It’s worse at the VG because you’ll see patients out right in front of the doors smoking with IVs stuck in them in their hospital gowns, barely able to stand, puffing away. It’s sad to see, and it’s annoying to walk through. I had a test a few weeks ago where I was sedated. I fainted and was nauseous during the test and after walking through all the smoke to get out of the building, I ended up barfing a little more. I don’t think that that’s right – the right to breathe clean air, especially when you’re sick trumps the ‘right’ of smokers to smoke. But since most smokers’ reasoning is too skewed by their addiction, I don’t see any of them who would light up in front of a hospital figuring this out any time, soon.
Not so much, Michael:

Not hard to tell who the smokers are around here!
Some people may need a week at the Death Camp of Tolerance.
Timbits are nothing compared to the Oreo donut being discontinued!
And a closed room is much different than open air. The people smoke outside, not inside.
Smoke um if ya got em! But donuts and french fries are actually the worlds worst and fattening foods. I used to eat my lunch at the hospital cafeteria all the time when I worked next door. They even make healthy pizza out of whole wheat crust and desserts made outta sweet potatoes! KEWL!
They do the same thing at the hospitals in Quebec so it may not be limited to just Halifax.
Bro Tim, you really are kind of dim.
Mary, would you be referring to Dim Bro Tim?
no fool is very upset that she cannot get those timbits into her fat piehole OOOHHHHHHH lawd!
Dat’s Phat wit a PH, honey. Pretty Hawt and Delicious! Y U jelly?
