People keep pushing the “buy local” philosophy, so when a friend and I went downtown on Sunday to look around in some shops to see if we could find some unique gifts, the majority of the time all we found were a list of store hours on the doors saying “Sunday – Closed.” WTF. How do these shops expect to make any money if they’re going to be closed on Sunday? No wonder people prefer to shop in malls and Bayer’s Lake. Local shops with lame hours… do us all a favor and go bankrupt. —Santa’s Helpers

Yes I agree, but you do not understand, see the people who work there feel they are entitled to Sunday off. Similarly to how the occupy protesters are being painted as feeling in titled to free stuff, the workers some of which I have spoken to at times will explain.” Sunday is a day for families, I should not be made to work.
Well I have been feeling a bit like this also, like maybe these older ppl who when they were 35 might have declared bankruptsey, well that made me have to pay higher taxes and even interest along with everyone else, no different from insurance, if you have an accident others pay the bulk.
See we were fed a line, we were told our parents were legally responsible for us, they didn’t add that after 18 now you are responsible for them for the rest of their life and beyond.

No dontntry to qualify bad behavior of our citizens by location, I’ve discussed this with workers at walmart and gov offices. People think they have the right not to work on Sunday, its not based on location. Your comment is not only useless it is anti-progress
Yes OB, how would they make money not being open on Sunday? I’m not sure if you’re aware of this or not, so pay close attention, there are 6 other days of the week. If a business cannot survive being open only 6 of the 7 days of the week, should you really fight to keep it open?
OB, don’t waste your time buying local. Those store owners are just as ungrateful as a homeless person being pushed off the sidewalk in front of said store. Buy online…..you’ll find far more selection, much better prices, and no dumb ass store employee trying to up sell you useless shit.

I agree OP, weird hours, but they are probably closed because business isn’t as busy on Sundays. I transferred from Mic Mac Mall to downtown last year and it was a freaky large difference on Sundays! We actually could have break danced throughout the store and not hit a single soul. I recommend Saturdays, not too busy and you can catch the market vibes too 🙂
