Hey – what pisses me off is the people that complain about people smoking in designated areas !! The ones that whine about smoking at bus stops and such . Stop crying and move on – it won’t kill you if you move away . Complaining to a smokers face and whining like that just might be worst for your health . Stop crying . The world doesn’t revolve around you Nazi’s . I hear russia is looking for some KGB , why don’t you move there ?
Some random smoker.

  1. yeah, yhat’s about right. plus i’ll add that at any given time, there is a very great deal odf air that passes between the soker and non smoker. cheack out the space if you don’t believe me, and hey, it’s witer, and there will be a lot more fucking wind, ergo, more air to pass between.i respect your right not to smoke, so fucking respect mine, not to be bitched, whined, yelled at. if you can’t do this, then all i have to say to you is “GET FUCKED”.

  2. Until smoking is deemed illegal, you fucking over-sensitive pinheads will have to suck it up along with the harbour stench, vehicle & bus fumes and the assorted methane emissions from your fellow bus travellers. I used to smoke and will defend a smoker’s right to blaze up, especially in this nicotine-phobic world that equates a cigarette with a needleful of fucking heroin.

  3. speaking of the horrendous harbor smell, I was walking down Brunswick today towards downtown and the piss-shit combo stench at one point actually made me start violently gagging and puking a bit on the sidewalk.

  4. If you smoke inside the bus shelter – where it says ‘NO SMOKING’ – then you’re a fucking retard. Or, if you smoke within the designated ‘air intake’ areas – then you’re a fucking retard. Other than those types of situations – I couldn’t really give a rats ass where you smoke outside.

  5. OK, gadget maybe there are a couple people that have a problem with placing periods. Or is the op weedhog?

  6. I am a smoker who takes the bus. When I smoke at a bus stop it is 10 feet away from the shelter and I will NEVER do it inside. I have no qualms, as a smoker, to ask people smoking INSIDE bus stops to step outside and have some respect. I wish more smokers weren’t such jerks and high and mighty about it. DON’T SMOKE INSIDE A BUS SHELTER…it’s that easy!

  7. definitely reeks of weedhoggedness, what with the -‘s and ” . ” spacing.
    good eye balls….

  8. seriously wtf people! smoking in bus shelters is just stupid, I am in there trying to stay dry in the wet weather, the last thing I want while in there is my lung filled with the stench of cigarettes, plain and simple the signs are there! learn to read!!!!!

  9. I’m of the attitude that as a democratic society…we need to be FAIR.
So on days of the month which are even numbers the smokers smoke outside in the rain/snow/sleet or sun. On odd numbered days of the month, the nonsmokers go out side & enjoy what ever mother natures dishing out & the smokers get to smoke inside.

Nice simple solution, & god/allah/jehova damn it, fair to boot !

  10. but doubleup87,what about all the fumes from exhaust and shit like that.you mean to say that you would rather inhale that.if that’s the case, next time i’m at a stop,i’ll let a big fucking stinky fart go inside, and just hope you are there.most only have 3 sides you know, and the breeze blows around and throgh there too fool.

  11. what I was saying Life sucks is that, I took the bus for 4 years relying on it, spending many hours, bus fumes are nothing to me, you can barely smell them, my main concern is the smell of cigarettes is not a pleasant one, that is my personal opinion.

  12. I have a better idea…why don’t the nonsmokers stand out in the fresh air…after all we smokers ARE trying to keep a small fire lit, which is hard in the rain.

Have some consideration and think of others for a change…WE’RE the addicts, not you.

  13. “”hours, bus fumes are nothing to me, you can barely smell them, my main concern is the smell of cigarettes is not a pleasant one, that is my personal opinion.”‘

    AHA!!

At last, someone is honest about the matter…it’s a matter of you “don’t like the smell”, nothing to do with health and safety as the anti-smokers use in their fight….you just don’t like the smell, admit it.
carnon monoxide has the ability to kill you in minutes, not years, , but that’s OK is it? “odourless toxic gasses” are fine, but my Ole Virgginy ain’t?!

    BS!

Well, I don’t like the smell of your cheap perfume, BO, lentil soup and curry…waaaa, now we’re even.

We’ll all just have to learn that life ain’t a bed of sweet-smellin’ roses…

  14. Personally – it ain’t my bitch . Mine would be about dummies like kay zzz balls and such that whine about punctuation because they have no other intelligent thing to say .If one of them ever passes through – you can win a bet its mine .

  15. “I hear russia is looking for some KGB…”

Really? I thought they disbanded years ago, are they recruiting again? Cool. I heard the pay and benefits are quite attractive.

  17. that sounds like the stuff that’s in the cereal i eat every morn;toluene and styrene now thats good eating yummy!

  18. In that vein, here’s an interesting study comparing particulates from cigarettes to idling diesel engines.
    http://tobaccocontrol.bmj.com/content/13/3…

Also, while that is a big scary list….not everything on it is bad for you and most of those that are just aren’t present in large enough quantities to worry about from second hand smoke outside or in a shelter. Heck, most of those things I would expect from any burning plant tissue. In addition, for that list to have real meaning and impact, you should pull up the similar list of chemicals in car exhaust.

  19. My point was more to say that people compare cigarette smoke to car fumes and farts, while cigarettes have the same chemicals in them that car fumes and farts do….and they all smell bad so it’s a stupid argument for a smoker to say.

  20. The argument that non-smokers should put up with smoke from cigarettes because of all the other fumes already in the air is, for lack of a better term, unbelievably fucking moronic. Your arguments about civil rights are much more logical than the idiotic “dirty air already” arguments.

There is a massive difference between standing at a bus stop and having someone blow clouds of smoke in your face and, you know, breathing the regular air. I don’t go and put my face next to an exhaust pipe of a car or a person’s asshole.

Stop forcing me to breath in your concentrated, disgusting smoke you blow in my face as you stand underneath the non-smoking sign in the only bus shelter at the bus stop during a snowstorm.

Plus, when you get on the bus and sit next to me you smell like disgusting shitty smoke and you make me want to puke.

  21. While some people say it stinks (I happen to like it personally, though rarely smoke) that is really the only factor that is different from breathing in that ‘good ol’ fresh air’ …

And I think that list melectric posted is actually what is in the smoke… not the cigarette.
Some of those listed are gases.. and if we’re counting the gas existing in a cigarette then aren’t you including what would be there anyways even if you didn’t smoke the thing?

And they have Chromium! it’s not bad… it’s a mineral supplement.

    also,
Argon the noble gas is colorless, odorless, tasteless and nontoxic in both its liquid and gaseous forms… so you’ve included items that have no benefit to the argument other than the fact that there are a lot of ‘things’ in cigarettes.
I suppose I could have used hydrogen or water for that point but I wanted some bitches to learn something today.

  22. Smokers, don’t smoke in the fucking bus shelters.

Non-smokers, if there’s no shelter and someone is smoking, DEAL WITH IT its public property.
The only exception is if you are a smoker be aware of people with children and such. The only issue here is consideration, all of you smokers and non smokers STFU and just be considerate to others.

FYI I don’t smoke tobacco, but I’m not a hater either. Learn some tolerance people, we all share this city, lets learn to work together.

  23. This one is really simple…From the Metro Website:

Passengers are not permitted to smoke while on transit vehicles, bus shelters and terminals, or ferry terminals in accordance with the Fares & Property By-law, prohibiting smoking in public transportation vehicles and facilities.

Violators will be subject to a maximum penalty of $1000 under the by-law.

    Nothing more to say….

  24. I’m with Kit on this one… I will smoke in a bus shelter if I’m the only one in there, and if it’s raining/windy/cold/typical shitty Nova Scotia weather… But when someone walks in (especially with a child), I’m outta there

  25. and we have this info from who, melectric, a non smoker probably, working on a way to get more grant money for thinking up bullshit? i can say the fucking sky is green, and have papers and bullshit to back it up, but it still doesn’t mean that it’s true or real.
