To the guy on the bus who “needed” to point out the available seat my backpack was on loudly to everyone on the bus: there were other seats available. I don’t know what I did to offend you, but you don’t know me and why I had my backpack there. I have severe arthritis and that day I could barely sit in my seat much less have a bag sit on my bad leg; it was that painful and swollen. Your declaration to the bus about my seat was rude. Do you freak out on the mothers who block three seats with their strollers too? If someone needed/asked for the seat I could have accommodated them (putting my bag on the floor was an option but not one I prefer since bending over also hurts). Just because I don’t use a cane or have crutches doesn’t mean I am a fully mobile individual, you jerk. I hope your self-important bus-seat policing made you feel like the “big man” you were pretending to be. To me you looked like the biggest jerk I’ve encountered in a long while. —Bus rider

Hmmm… walking, bending hurts yet you carry a large, heavy backpack that doesn’t bother you? The rules allow women with strollers to take up additional seating; using one for your lame excuse is not included in the rules.
The guy was unaware whether you put two tickets in the collection plate which entitled your bag to it’s own resting place. As with other modes of transportation your bag goes under the seat. Simple.
I love when people come to the defence of idiots with “what if scenarios” they are exactly that. WHAT IF. it doesn’t change the fact that at that moment the OB had a backpack occupying a space. the ODDS of that person having put 2 tickets on are so small its laughable that you would even CONSIDER using that as an excuse. Bags go on the floor. between your feet and out of the way of path of travel to other riders. OB deserved to be addressed as an asshole. no amount of “what if”, apologist BS scenario can change that. Stop excusing assholes on the transit.
and by the way, I have a hip injury with osteoarthritis and am facing another major surgery to repair the broken bone. When I had my first surgery last year, even with crutches, brace etc, I stood. I knew how inconsiderate the avg rider was and didn’t expect anyone to offer up a seat. that’s exactly the same as the OB…an inconsiderate bastard.
If you leg was so swollen that you couldn’t walk on it, then why did you even bother with using a heavy bag. I think you’re making excuses for being put on the spot. Grow some fucking balls you pansy.
Devil’s Advocate: Maybe OB was on their way to class/work and needed the bag and it’s contents. Maybe the bag wasn’t that heavy but his/her arthritis is that bad. Maybe if someone asked them to move the bag, they would have done so. I dunno — the idea of some bus seat SJW (LOL) ‘calling people out’ for taking up an extra seat, when seats are available, is just as stupid, if not even more stupiderer.
At least OB wasn’t man spreading.
People defending the douchbag of course, Lots of angry passive aggressive losers in Hali, Gotta get out their hate at the world somehow…Na Na Poo Poo your doing something wrong and I’m not! Why does so and so get away with this and I don’t… Cause the worlds unfair cry me a river…
After his rant I would have gave him one of my own. The one that told him exactly what you said to the world in this post.
