Okay so yea it was about a month ago I was on the #1 bus heading to my buddy’s house. When, all of a sudden, a cop car from the other lane of Barrington st. cuts in front of our bus with all its lights flashing and its siren blasting about. Cop cars surround the bus and cops are running up side it with their hands on their gun holdsters. They board the bus and yank two guys off search through their bags then let them reboard. No explanation for why the stopped the bus for 45 minutes which cramped up traffic in the middle of after work rush hour. Anyways after all the craziness plus the bus driver’s 20 minute smoke, one of the cops climb’s aboard and says simply: “sorry for the inconvenience folks we were lookin’ for a guys who coulda hurt someone but we’re too late”, then he’s gone with the rest of his squad. No explanation, just the classic canadian “sorry ’bout that”.

I arrive an hour late to my destination all shaky with adrenaline and anger and fear that there was a guy probably sitting a seat in front of me that could have easily turned this into another Greyhound bus incident.

—45 minutes late to jake’s. >:OK

  1. And if the perp were on the bus and the cops didn’t stop it and something happened, then you’d be bitching about that. Talk about a no win.

  2. meh, least they were doing something… and I’m pretty sure they can’t divulge details of an ongoing investigation. didn’t crap tv these days teach you that?

  3. Ya know, I am sure if they treated it in this “emergency” manner, it was a pretty serious situation and they were doing the best they could under the circumstances.

I am sure they didn’t do all that for fun, and they were probably just as worried as you that somebody so potentially dangerous had gotten away.

  4. “one of the cops climb’s aboard and says simply: “sorry for the inconvenience folks we were lookin’ for a guys who coulda hurt someone but we’re too late”,”

Sounds like an explanation did occur. They were looking for guys who could have hurt someone, didn’t find them, offered as much of an explanation as they were able and left. A detailed explanation is not required. Other than the inconvenience I can’t see much to complain about and no real parallels to the Greyhound # 1170 incident.

  5. Even if you do let your imagination run wild…

Would you prefer FEAR that there was a guy probably sitting a seat in front of you that could have easily turned that into another Greyhound bus incident, or a guy ACTUALLY sitting a seat in front of you that could have easily turned that into another Greyhound bus incident? In your scenario, the cops tried to protect you from decapitation…and you’re complaining?

  6. heh, Sounds like a segment right off of an episode of Cops! At least the police were/are investigating something, and trying to catch a criminal. As opposed to the same number of police sitting along side the highway setting up a speed trap with their radar guns handing out fine after fine!

  7. Well OP, you had me convinced this was a real bitch, until you threw in the “Anyways after all the craziness plus the bus driver’s 20 min smoke”
Seriously? Your full of shit, no smoke takes 20 mins. Exaggerate much?
