To the ten guys in the burrito joint Thursday night who thought they were tough shit and ganged up on my friend by pulling his hair and taking cheap shots to his head, go fuck yourselves! Don’t parade around thinking your king shit of turd island, because really you’re ignorant assholes who need to grow a pair and realize that real men don’t throw punches at innocent bystanders. —Tired of drunk douche-bags

  1. I hate guys who think if they throw a punch they’re all tough shit…even if it’s a cheap shot…or 4 on 1…some guys will always be losers OB.
I hope your friend is ok.

  2. It didn’t happen. It wasn’t in the news, right, sebastard?

(sorry OP, just being bitchy – I hope the cops picked them up and they got to have a snooze in the clink).

  3. Did your friend provoke them while you sat idle and did nothing? Did you call the cops? This bitch is incomplete.

  4. did you have a camera phone o.p., one pic is worth a thousand profiles on fiscus(?), that the cops use for facial recognition. then you have them in the act, and charges can be laid, if even one, has a record.
other than that, i would suggest going to an online site on the net, get a cheap penlight taser, that you will find there. they can be importedto canada, and are only 40 bucks or less.they carry a jolt, that will get someone’s attention in a hurry.

  5. Again, something that likely never even happened. OP, did you give your statement to the police? Are assault charges pending? Did your friend require medical attention? Again, never happened. Come up with a more original story next time that’s believable, like a fat person fell over, rolled down the street, and then ate a burrito.

  6. Ralmn..that looks good! Z3…that looks like man vs. food.
I think someday next week I’m going to make my way down to Barrington and try that beautiful pulled pork sandwich that flashes on the home screen for 7 under 7….I just had lunch and I’m still thinking about food!! (I had a salad though)

  7. People are actually doubting that this shit happens downtown in the vicinity of Pizza Corner? On a thursday night? are you people for real?

  8. A salad from Pete’s…that was loaded with veggie’s and raisins, bacon bits & cheese. It was really good!
My only craving is blizzards at night…and chips in the day. Banana split blizzards….uuuummmmm

  9. all this fuck talk of food, made me change my avatar, to the 50 pound burger. eat well me hearties, har, har.

  10. These pics are making me hungry.

Also, I think Burrito Jackasses would be a good name for an indie rock band.

  11. People never get beat up in downtown Halifax?! A few fucking halfwits in this thread (you know who you are).

  12. Some pretty entertaining, kind and idiotic comments.

I was the friend who was involved and yes I am fine, aside from a broken nose and the enormous amount of frustration I have for being part of the lamest fight ever. Amazing how a group of 10 guys could not manage to knock down just one and even resorted to pulling my hair and clothes – though I was still able to drop 2 of the wieners.

I would also like to add that I did nothing to provoke the fight as I have respect for another person’s property and the safety of others. I was simply sitting in the back watching the groups of guys try to pick fights with everyone as my friend was ordering a burrito. And then all hell broke loose.

As for the comment above- my friend (who posted this) did her best the stop the brawl- and I am very, very thankful she did not get hurt.

A great night quickly turned sour thanks to a group of mindless, uncontrollable boys masquerading as men. I will not wish you harm- I just hope, for your sake as well as others, that you grow the fuck up soon.

Video surveillance has been reviewed and many of those involved were regulars and are now banned from the restaurant. The restaurant and/or I may press charges.

  13. I used to play the bar on Grafton St(Ch**rs) with a band I was in, something about jumping flightless birds(the band).
Anyway, on a break, out on the sidewalk in front, I watched 5 guys chase one down the hill and turn right in front of me. The guy being chased was wearing church shoes and went down hard. 5 guys stomped him into the ground. Of all the watchers, the guy in the wheelchair(WheelieP-nice guy!, but foolish) got in the middle and screamed and pulled the beaters away.
Because of the way I was screaming, the head beater walked over and apologized for “scaring” me. I asked him why they beat this guy up and heard some meandering tale of the Spryfield bus, a gold chain, and making eye contact, all adding up to what I witnessed.
I refuse to play the bar ever again(security watched and did nothing, and yes, I realize it wasn’t their responsibility since it wasn’t bar property, but when the only guy to break up an attempted murder isn’t able to walk, there’s a frigging problem with peoples’ sense of empathy for strangers.

OP, I’m sorry this shit happened. But I’m not surprised it did. Sometimes people suck and dumb shit goes down. You can’t always avoid it when people get you in their sights for no reason.
Hope this doesn’t make you and your friend feel unsafe now all the time, but I understand if it does.
    WheelieP

  14. I hope you do press charges OP. For the record, most of the people saying “It couldn’t have happened” are being sarcastic since it is the M.O. of one specific commenter to dismiss such incidents, if he saw no mention of it in the press.
Wheelie – back in the mid to late 80’s I lived with a bunch of fellow King’s students in a flophouse on Watt St. One of the band members at that time lived in the neighborhood(his Mom is a lovely lady who worked at UKC) so after a drunken sidewalk convo we became Penguin groupies. Used to do a bitchin’ version of Tears of a Clown, as I recall >: )

  15. REAL CHICK…. I will firmly stand behind B-heads pulled pork sandwich…. although if you are planning a repeat visit you HAVE to try the macaroni and cheese…. MMM MMMM delish.

  16. Ivan- I was a late-joiner, but had the bass chair 93-2001/2. Loveloveloved that music.
I always called “Ranking Full Stop”, or Lorraine by Bad Manners for my “around the horn” request. Tears of Etc was a great song.
    Scree?

  17. @ 🙂 Sorry you got hurt.
“The restaurant and/or I may press charges.” You fucking better, the next time that these dick-wipes jump somebody they mght really hurt them. You have the opportunity to do something, DO IT!

  18. Good. This I was afraid the sidewalks today would make me all “roooo”, but then I looked out my window and it’s definitely a screeeee! day.

  19. The slaw and pit beans are also “tres magnifique”. It’s a rare instance when the sides are as good as the meats, but these guys got it right.
Bundle up Wheelie – there’s a bit of a wind chill, but it’s nice to see the sun.

  20. yep, ’twas a cold walk to work this am – but the sun is loverly and warming through the office window.

    Happy Wine Wednesday all.

  21. Yes, but it’s not so much of a hump to get over when you have a weekly plan for wine with friends. It’s a tradition I’m happy to say I’ve been following for a couple of years now. Life is sweeter. 🙂

  22. I would like to join you in a few months for Wine Wednesday Miss Ralmn!

Jonno, Ivan, Z….Sold..sold & sold. I can’t wait to try this place now!! I’m hungry just thinking about it!

  23. For sure! All are welcome, we have a rotating list of spots we go to and sometimes one of us hosts and cooks. In my hometown, it’s really become a buzzword, and I’m proud to say I was one of the founding members. 😀

Tonight, we’re off to visit Sue at the Museum of Natural History then hitting up a nearby pub, I hope. Next week we have warm up drinks planned then watching Hey Rosetta! at the Parade Square.

  24. we have a delivery guy, that got into trouble for wishing someone happy hump day rawk? he is barred from delivering there…my hump day is thursday

  25. Sounds like fun ralmn, not like I’ll be in the city or anything, but what time? Just in case 😉

  26. Boo on you b195!! Joel Plaskett, Hey Rosetta!, GBS, City and Colour, Old Man Luedeke, The Stanfields, Hawksley Workman – yipppeeee!!!! Oh right, forgot, you like “orgasmatron” kind of music, so you have wonderful taste. ;p

  27. lol The Stanfields are pretty awesome and Matt Mays is pretty good, but other than that I don’t really care for any of the acts. Though I understand that they have more mass appeal than say Black Moor or Orchid’s Curse.
