I understand that parking was tight this afternoon, but you really didnt have to back into my new car. You also really didnt have to deny it when my roommate came down to speak with you, after he witnessed the whole event. And you really, really didnt have to drive away in your little white sedan while he came back into the house to get a pen.
It would be great if you were a real man and actually confessed. It will cost you a lot less then “hit and run” charges. Halifax really isnt that big, and I’m sure one of us will see you, eventually.

I bought a brand new car (not even a month old) and got smacked in my apartment complex parking lot. But I got it on video survailance. Made a police report and can’t wait to nail that bitch!

As a victim of a “hit and run” back in March, I can tell you you’re pretty much screwed. The police will do little to nothing and even if your roommate got the guys license plate, he will more than likely get away with it. All he has to do is claim that he “felt threatened” by your roommate coming outsisde and that he saw no visible damage to your car and felt that an exchange of information wasn’t necessary. It’s a completely fucked up system for dealing with this type of incident.
This happened to me over the weekend too! There must be some sort of “I’m terrible at parking” disease going around… 🙁 My 3 week old car now has the left side of the bumper smashed in a few inches. This happened in the apartment parking lot where I live so I’m keeping my eyes open for a navy blue car with red paint stuck to it or a dent. I cried a little. OK, a lot. How fast do you need to be careening out of a parking space? Are you in THAT big of a hurry? As someone who HAS bumped into and damaged someone’s car I can tell you it’s much better to just fess up and leave your info.
New car = dent magnet… my poor car has seen to many dings, dents, caved in quarter panels in her short life…
People just dont respect other peoples property these days… I know this doesnt help as the money aspect of it really sucks but at least its just a car…
