Back then aka high school you were the worst of the worst, pretty sure that people have gone to shrinks because of you.
Fast forward a couple years: we’re all going to be thirty in a couple of years and all the times I have seen you…you still act the way you did back in the days of old which leads me to believe that you still have serious issues not yet dealt with or you are developmentally delayed..perhaps both? —Euuuggeennne

He’s either middle management or prepping to take a run at the mayoralty of a major Canadian city. Success is, after all, the best revenge

Is the person to whom you refer the love of your life? A Saudi perhaps? Circumcised?
I was the after school human piñata when I was in junior high – I held in a lot of anger until I went to my high school reunion – by the time you’re 40 or 50, these little twits are mere pathetic shadows of what they once were – the best revenge is your confidence in yourself with an added touch of smugness for what they still are – vacuous and mean. Silly old sows, let them wallow in their own self-destruction.
I’d have been your pal T.T. !!!
Grades 5-9 were hell for me – not only at school but not a lot of support at home either. However, because of that I ended up spending a lot of time in my room drawing comics. Now I’ve written 2 graphic novels and have a talent that nobody could take away from me; something I can be proud of that acts as a form of meditation when things in life get stressful. In grade 10 moved to Halifax and made lots of friends – even started getting some interest from girls. When I was younger I thought there was something wrong with me because I got picked on a lot but as I get older I hear more and more people talking about their experiences being bullied (far worse for kids these days I think) and realized that it’s something a lot of people go through in their youth. Perhaps most people. A part of it does stick with you for a long time but it’s a great day when you finally realize that other people are entitled to their opinions, even if they are wrong, mean or what have you. But you are not obligated to give them any weight or space in your head.
Carrying on this behavior as an adult is a bit concerning though, OP, and I think you’re right to suggest that it’s a sign of a bigger problem. Fortunately, you can take comfort in one thing: No matter how big the bully, there is always somebody bigger and eventually this person will be on the other end of the table.
Sounds like he’s not the only one.
Seriously. Let it go already. This person sucks. We get it. Stop searching for the personal life changes of all the people you dislike as a way to validate your own self-worth. Their sucking has nothing to do with you, ok? Get over it already. Adulthood is here. There is no longer a bell telling you that you have to be around this person.
if you continue to think about this person who wronged you, it means they are still scoring points off you. they are still affecting you, your thoughts, your behaviour.
it means you are letting them be of significance to you. drop them from your thoughts, they have no power over you anymore. poke them like a cartoon balloon. gone
Its funny, you’d think people would grow out of being assholes, but not so. Through the magic of Facebook I’ve been reunited with people who I thought were jerks 20 years ago, and it turns out they’re still jerks! I really couldn’t believe it. Guess that’s why I hadn’t seen them in 20 years or so.
