This has to be the most hyped pony piss ever, it typifies the good old USA – weak, spent, gassy and cannot hold a candle to Keiths.

  1. I agree that stuff isn’t beer. I also tried one of those keith’s white… they offered it with a slice of orange, that’s because it hasn’t got any flavor ! Not that I have a problem with oranges or orange juice (I just don’t eat them when I ‘m drinking beer) I’m assuming here but I think this is just a new way to sell bottled water !

  2. It’s a new way to get non-beer drinkers to drink beer. It’s like flavoured cigarettes, you just cover up the gross part (the taste) and keep the addictive parts in (alcohol and nicotine).

  3. Nnnno. It’s called white beer. Keith’s White is really nasty, but that’s no surprise, since Keith’s is also gross (yes – I’m a Nova Scotian – SHOCKING!). If you want a real white beer, try a Hoegaarden or a Rickards white. Even better is the wheat microbrew at Rock Bottom. They’re all delicious. As far as Bud Lite Lime goes, I haven’t been able to get any yet.. but it’s probably also delicious.

  4. its all made by the same people – keiths, budweiser, hoegaarden, stella, labatt and many others – anheuser-busch in bev. belgian/brazilian. so blaming it on the US is a little inaccurate.

you’re right miles, that is exactly what it is…creating more ‘beer drinkers’. who cares. if you don’t like it, don’t drink it.

  5. itsnotme is right. I used to work at the Oland’s brewery on Agricola. Keith’s, Keith’s Light/Red/White, Labbatt Blue, Oland’s, Budweiser and Bud Light are all brewed there.
Keith’s is disgusting swill though and tastes like bottled ass crack sweat. It’s not even good ale, let alone a good I.P.A.

  6. i love the fact that sidney oland had his company purchased by labbatt and he later became the chair, president or CEO of labatt.

  7. I was never a fan of beer; Budweiser American Ale is OK, but I stick to my Makers Mark on the rocks / Gin and Tonic.

  8. has anyone tried Sam Adams Boston Lager? its at the NSLC now but I can’t bring myself to pay $16-17 for a 6-pack when I can get 8 Dry Ice for $13.

  9. Hey NGF — totally worth it. I think it’s best out of most lagers, and not just sayin’ because I’m from Boston. All tastes are different though I suppose

  10. I like to try the beers of the world section at the NSLC, it can be costly but what pleasure isn’t.
The polish beer is superb, I can’t spell or pronounce it but it’s well worth buying.

  11. I’m telling ya, the best IPA I’ve ever had is the McAuslan IPA. Keith’s has got nothin’ on it. Schooner tastes better than that shit.

  12. Sam Adams is ok, but really its just another microbeer gone big. Stick to Propeller in my opinion.

  13. Keith’s is the worst beer available, it pales in comparison to just about everything else. All hype and marketing, no fucking taste whatsoever. Those that hate it, know good beer!

  14. omg the jar stores are all out of limebutt til july…c’mon folks they sell lots of good stuff to swill

  15. I’d just like to add that while everyone hates Bud Lite Lime (apparently) it’s also sold out Halifax wide. Wow, what a weird consequence.

  16. refinedsugar – of course it’s sold out, that all adds to the hype. Give it a month and they won’t be able to give this piss away.
Old Peculier is damned fine beer, on draught of course!

  17. No doubt it’s a marketing scheme, but I am an avid beer drinker and I tried it a few weeks ago. Quite refreshing on a hot summer afternoon, I must say! Variety is the spice of life, so it’s a great addition to any cooler! Shame they’re holding back on prouction.

  18. NGF, depending on your taste buds, Sam Adams Boston Lager isn’t the greatest tasting. I’ve found that BL Lime actually does taste good. It’s even better tasting that you can buy 12 bottles for only $12 in Texas. 18 cans for only $17!!!! That or you could buy some Corona. Case of 12 bottles for $14. All prices in American $$.
Boddington’s is good. If you ever have a Shiner Bock, that’s a good one as well. Give the Abita Purple Haze a try if you can get your hands on it. Lambic beers are good too, but I’m not a fan of the peach ones. Selection of beers down in the USA is much better than in NS. For some reason, the selection of beers in Eastern Canada is pretty small compared to what you can find out in Vancouver. It’s too bad the NSLC doesn’t offer customers the ability to mix up their purchases. For example, buy any 6 beers you want of x amount of dollars. That way you could try out 6 different beers for like $15 or whatever they’re charging for import beers. When it was 1st available, I bought a 6 pack of Guinness extra stout and it was horrible. Drank only a bit of one and had to pour out the rest. What a waste of a 6 pack and the money I spent on it.
If you’re ever in a city that has one, try out The Flying Saucer. It’s got a huge selection of beers. The entire back side of their menu (8.5″ x 11″) is all beers from around the world.
