To the little punk ass kids who broke my car window early Sunday morning, thanks a bunch for the huge inconvenience and cost of my window repair…WTF is so god damn amusing about going around and breaking other people’s shit?!?! I would love to know! Not only do I have to pay $205 to get this fixed, I’m now without a car for three days. I hope one day when you have student loans, rent and bill payments and finally have enough money to buy yourself a half decent car, someone comes and breaks all your god damn windows! You’re some lucky I didn’t see you cause I would have chased you down. Get a fucking job, or hobby, or some fucking direction in your life rather then vandalizing other people’s shit cause it’s not funny, it’s fucking childish and disrespectful! I hope karma pays you in full. —Sincerely Pissed Off

  1. How do you know it was punk ass kids if you didn’t see them? Maybe it was Karma, because you can’t see that either.

  2. Douchebags read the Coast, Mclean was proof of that. I think it was seniors, they’re a handfull compared to punk ass kids. And OP, that really sucks. I have been the victim of minor vandalism, but couldn’t imagine what its like waking up and finding one of your car windows smashed. I used to remember alot more Neighborhood Watch houses when I was younger, maybe that was a program that should be explored again. I find people are more mature in their actions when the threat of surveillance is present.

  3. “To the little punk ass kids” – ” it’s fucking childish”.
Kids will be children and thus childish, no?

  4. Speaking from experience… yes it does suck.
At least you have the sense to get it repaired as quickly as possible.

  5. I hear you. Had my car broken into so they could get a ride from Halifax to Dartmouth on a cold night. Cost me $1500 and 10 days to fix. But what it really cost me was my piece of mind.

Police said I probably startled them. I would have gone down if there was an altercation (being a wuss), but I’d have taken one of them with me!

  6. $1500… geez, what the hell did they do to it?
rip out the steering column and hotwire?

my little rear corner pane of glass… the triangle one the size of my hand…. cost me over 150 but at least it was done same day.

  7. in east van we just left the car unlocked, and with the windows down a bit so it would be as obvious as possible that there was no need to break glass. before that, it was a window a week. leave the car as empty as possible and your ‘donation’ of a few quarters in the centre cup holder.
street parking was safer than underground parking, because they we quicker about their business on the open street. in the underground, they lingered in relative privacy.
