You know what scares me? Sick people, terminally I’ll patients, people in tremendous pain, people with PTSD, etc… having a resource center where they can get their medicine, learn how to use it and have a social club where they are free to use their medicine in a judgment free environment. Thanks, HRP, for keeping our streets safe! —Me

What exactly are you mad at OB?
He’s just mad he can’t get his weed fix. Mellow out dude! Laws should be changing eventually.
So why are you scared? These folk trying to squat on your tent space?
You’re a haa-aa-aa-aard man, O.P.
I have been sleeping so much better now that i know the HRM’s finest have taken out those deadly drug crazed pushers in Halifax.
All the crime they were responsible for the robberies, muggings, murders ….I’ll bet those heathen pot smokers are responsible for most of the pedestrian hit & runs in metro. Yep we are all safer & better off now. Happy days are here . Someone give those hero’s in blue, big shiny medals …they have so much to be proud about ! Raises for everybody …why isn’t our Mayor front & centre congratulating them for keeping all of us safe ????
If marijuana really is a legitimate treatment and can be prescribed like other medications then I don’t understand why it isn’t dispensed through pharmacies. Something doesn’t add up.
I have had no problems buying or smoking weed, nor have I, for over 32 years now. What’s the problem?
You know what scares me? People who think that because they are smarter than those who draft/enforce laws, the laws don’t apply to them. You know, like drunk drivers, for instance. I’m not saying the legislation on this issue doesn’t need to change, but that’s your job as a citizen/voter.
Yes, it scares me too.
MM has recently retired or changed meds. Keep up the zingers!
^^Didn’t you hear? His account has been hacked.
I changed my meds. I had to because my account had been hacked.
Medical Marijuana is LEGAL, this dispensary is LEGAL, his grow store is LEGAL, and the medical grows that were storm trooped by the police were LEGAL and approved by Health Canada. The police broke in, slashed plants down, smashed equipment and stole “medicine” from patients and stole equipment from a completely legal store. This was a blatant and malicious attack on someone’s business, livelihood and freedom. There were lines that were crossed, not by the business owner but, by the police and the sad part is that none of this concerns any of you.
Because none of this effects you directly it just becomes fodder for lame-ass “pothead” jokes and, the right wing “that’s what you get for challenging the law, you should just vote to change it” mantra is just tired and sad, almost as sad as the people who spout this shit as gospel. There will come a day that each and every one of you will be sick and old. When that day comes and you have a choice, a natural choice, you will have people like Chris to thank for that, but, most of you will just take that choice for granted.
There is a hidden agenda and the deck is being stacked in the drug companies favor. THEY get to hijack OUR police force to institute their control. Do you think that you will be able to dispense “medication” with a criminal record? Do you think that you will be able to be an entrepreneur in this budding (yes, it’s a pun) industry with a criminal record? NOPE!!! If we bust and criminalize all the people who have been activists for this cause, when the government finally pulls their head out of their ass and open the doors, the control will be gift wrapped and handed to the large corporations that spent billions lobbying the government to keep it illegal. They will be given the keys to the kingdom, leaving the true pioneers that fought for YOUR RIGHTS (that’s right, I believe that your health, comfort and happiness are rights) to be pushed aside and forgotten.
Shame on all of you!!!!!
PS; From someone who has seen first hand the difference that medical marijuana made in a family members comfort before she died, a big thank you to Chris/Sherry and people like them who are willing risk everything to help people they don’t even know. I admire your dedication and compassion to your fellow man.
foxtrot tango whiskey *clap clap*
As God is my witness, I thought this bitch was about people’s right to walk around with therapeutic airsoft rifles.
*hangs head in shame and burns nutmeg before makeshift shrine to jack layton*
Ah yes, the usual stupid response from our very own law enforcement kiss-ass. The person that considers the civil disobedience of drinking and driving to be in the same realm as providing medicinal marijuana to cancer patients. A victimless crime compared to one of the leading causes of death in the country. Bring on some more of your hysterical, cane wagging, “Harper in a Can”, pro-Conservative crap.
*holds head high, ignores science and, sells what’s left of country to china*
ivan’s cool, it’s timothy you’re thinking of. his solution for everything is telling you to move somewhere else
SHITD, yes you are right it is a MEDICAL Marijuana store. As long as they sell to those who have a prescription, then no problem. If they sell to those who do not have a prescription, it is trafficking. It is that simple. If the local drugstore were to sell drugs to those who do not have a prescription, they would also be charged with trafficking and most likely shut down.
As god is my witness, I thought this bitch was about people’s right to enjoy a cold medicinal beer with their haircut.
*hangs head in shame while whistling some Verdi, half remembered from an old Bugs Bunny cartoon*
Prolly don’t want to be sitting next me when someone’s passing around a tray of Beelzebub’s Petits-Fours. I ordered one of those sword canes off the interwebz and it must have gotten past some of the less photogenic C.B.S. agents
Ah. I did not hear about this incident until now, thus why I was confused by this bitch.
Whatever, Tim, cops are just helpless pawns, too proud and, too ignorant to know any better.
Riiiiiight. The idiot sold dope to someone without a prescription and got caught. So how are the police pawns? For enforcing the law?
I don’t know enough about this to have a real opinion – but if buddy KNOWINGLY sold weed to a person without a prescription he fucked up and the cops are not at fault for enforcing the law. There is nothing stopping another legal pot supplier to take over the business, is there? I do think weed should just be legal because it’s pretty harmless but it isn’t yet and if you are going to be a legal pot supplier, you have to play by the rules. There are still plenty of places to get dope ‘illegally’ and there always will be.
I reserve my harsh criticism of the police for things that are actually serious offenses against the public and our society at large – i.e. using excessive force/brutality/intimidation, murdering teenagers, suppressing protests using military style tactics etc… IF this guy actually sold dope to people without prescriptions then he broke the law and it sucks but that was a risk that he took and those are the consequences.
what happened to my comment asking if this was a sting operation???
Yes, Tim, you get to be indignant about this because you’re right. Well, in the court of public opinion you may be but, we all know that there is more to this story lurking below the surface. These “busts” have been happening all over the country for the same reason, to discredit a purposely flawed and broken system, where the only people who suffer are the patients.
A system has been set up with the intention for it to fail and, the police are being used as unwitting (only unwitting if you’re not paying attention and focusing on career trajectory, pensions, etc…) pawns in a game of chess for the drug companies. They are the front line of attack and, they have been directed by a corrupt government, given an unlimited budget and, an ace up their sleeve. They get to use the “law” as their battering ram and the court of public opinion as their battlefield. Drug companies are not immediately able to seamlessly take over, so, in spirit of “fair competition”, tenders will be awarded to approved vendors. Now, a person need only be publically charged with a crime in the court of public opinion as, the decisions in these cases are usually years in the coming and are long forgotten by the time the charges are dropped or overturned in the Supreme Court of Canada, wasting millions of dollars of our money.
The broken system…
The government’s hand has been pushed since there is now irrefutable, scientific proof that humans are genetically coded to benefit from cannabinoids, the active ingredients in marijuana. (My job today is not to list off and prove the benefits of MM on these conditions, the information is out there, it’s not a secret.) Now they have to figure this shit out and come up with policy dealing with prescriptions and delivery. It starts with doctors. You need a prescription. The government will make it as difficult for you to get a prescription as possible, until the projected demand for this drug can be figured out. So, where do you get one? How do you get one? Well, first you need a family physician and, with the shortage of those (I’m not suggesting any grand conspiracy with family physician shortages and MM, so don’t get your panties in a twist), one might be hard to come by even if they all were willing to prescribe MM (medical marijuana). Truth is that they don’t want to, it puts them in the line of fire where, thanks to medical review boards etc…, where doctors have to prove that each patient has exhausted all other drug options (which is a lengthy and uncomfortable process for patients, being pumped full of every highly addictive pills that the drug companies are pimping). Many doctors don’t feel comfortable with the process and the added scrutiny of their license, forcing a flat “no” as a MM policy, allowing the government to low ball the potential for profit when drug plans are forced to recognize MM as a viable treatment option. So, if you’re lucky enough to find a doctor that will put his future on the line for you and, you get your prescription, where do you get your MM?
This used to be super easy, you got permission to grow your own. Now? Not so simple OR so cheap. The government, through the commercialization of this industry, are preying on sick Canadians to fill drug company coffers with yet another monopoly. How do you do this?
Well, first you have to discredit the “competition”. You do that by throwing “legal spaghetti” at the wall and seeing what sticks, which is pretty easy to do with unlimited resources at your fingertips, publically discrediting all who dare “compete”.
It’s sad that you people don’t get it but, by commercializing the system, Pandora has been let out of her box. We will never be going back. Why should we be handing corporations the keys to the kingdom without a little fair competition from the very people who fought so hard against these same corporations? Why should they roll over and let them win. Why shouldn’t the little guy that risked it all get a small slice of that pie. Too have all their dedication culminate in criminal records and bankruptcy? The message that only the government and the contractors they choose will be able to provide a “safe outlet” for MM. I absolutely hate that our government has fucked the system up so much but, that doesn’t change the system.
Businesses like the one in question are being set up all over the country and receiving the same warm welcome. The entire business model is a protest against the commercialization and resulting monopoly the government wishes to impose at the cost of sick and dying Canadians. Until the Supreme Court of Canada rules on the patients rights to growing their own MM, these “protest businesses” will continue to mount a fight against a stacked deck. As MM becomes more and more mainstream as treatment of a multitude of conditions, replacing traditional prescription drugs, the potential for loss for the drug companies will be sizeable.
I will attempt to paraphrase how the conversation went between high level government and the drug company execs…
Drug company: “Man, we’re gonna lose billions now that those damn hippies got science behind them. We contributed to your campaign guys, you gotta do something”
Government guy: “Don’t worry, we got you.” **wink wink** “You gotta be patient, this shits gonna take some time.”
These “protest businesses” are there to enact change, in one way or another. I don’t know who these people (Chris/Sherry) are but, I get what they’re doing and I have great respect for that! I will continue to throw them my support, even if there are some perceived indiscretions when dealing with “grey areas” in the law.
“The Law” can no longer be a line in the sand, or the Supreme Court may as well not exist, leaving policy control strictly in the hands of the government is rendering our Constitution worthless. Challenge drives policy and policy drives change. Hopefully the Supreme court does the right thing and un-commercializes the MM industry.
A CONSPIRACY! A CONSPIRACY!
“I will attempt to paraphrase how the conversation went between high level government and the drug company execs…” Stephen Harper
There are two issues here which must be kept separate. First there is the issue of the benefits of medical marijuana with which I have no argument. However, the other issue purports to reveal a conspiracy between “high level government” and “the drug company execs” with which I do.
There is no need to paraphrase any imaginary conversation between the two groups. This issue can be resolved very simply. Do you have hard evidence that such a conspiracy exists or are your charges little more than the frenzied ramblings of a fanatical conspiracy theorist?
Remember, no bluster. No windmilling, no personal attacks on me, no verbal hair-splitting as to what does or does not constitute “hard evidence.” Just the concrete evidence. I’ll be waiting.
A pleasure as only.
Cheerio!
Yes it was set up to fail. It is so difficult to take your prescription for medical marijuana and for the provider to take it and dispense it. Sounds like a set up for failure to me.
BTW are you permitted to grow opium poppies and manufacture its derivatives? Are you allowed to manufacture any prescription drugs? Can you buy them anywhere? No, you need a prescription and take them to a certified pharmacy to get it filled. Why should marijuana be any different?
Bro Tim is just mad that no doctor will give him a prescription license for hamburgers.
That’s a very good question,Tim? Why hasen’t it been treated like any other drug? Why does its use come with such negative connotations? Why do we view marijuana the way we do? It’s only been around and used as medicine for thousands of years but, illegal for only the last 60 or so. Why is that indeed, Tim? Perhaps you and your vast knowledge of marijuana history could enlighten us all.
A CONSPIRACY! A CONSPIRACY!
There goes Stephen, trying to dodge my question. Maybe he’ll paraphrase another imaginary conversation. Or maybe he just gave up. Still waiting, Stephen.
The government picks winners and losers all the time, MM, that’s why lobbyists do what they do. It’s no secret that the police institute the will of the government. It’s not a conspiracy, it’s how shit works.
The answer is too simple, legalize it. Let people grow their own like making your own beer or wine.
A CONSPIRACY! A CONSPIRACY!
You appear to have forgotten my question. Do you or do you not have hard evidence to support your claim that there is a conspiracy between high level government and the drug company execs? By “hard evidence” I mean published sources, complete with the names of authors as well as the names and dates of publication which can then be verified.
You also appear to have forgotten my advice: “No bluster, no windmilling, no personal attacks on me, etc.” Your present response amounts to little more than empty bluster.
As previously, I’m still waiting for that hard evidence.
A pleasure as always.
Cheerio!
Well, I did put a call into Jesse Ventura and, just as I suspected, he doesn’t give a shit about your opinion either, MM. He directed me to clear up some of your misunderstandings of simple definitions.
“A conspiracy theory is an explanatory proposition that accuses two or more persons, a group, or an organization of …” Perhaps your poor grasp on the english language is why I chose not to answer you stupid question. I don’t really require “proof” to present a “Conspiracy theory” as it is only an “explanatory proposition”.
Thanks for your undivided attention though, it males me feel important when you keep clicking refresh to see if I responded. Hope this helps you out, Sport.
I replied at some length but it was deleted.

MM, there has got to be a better way to protest this injustice than by setting fire to your collection…
That’s bad. Nothing burns quicker and hotter than imitation totem poles. Please, God – let them save the inanimate carbon rod that drafted the International Declaration of Human Rights. And the library of rare 78’s recorded by Mary Travers, or, as her friends called her – La Gros Poopoo. Which translates as The Gross Poopoo.
Canadian Civilization – reduced to a collection of Heritage Minutes. Oh, the Humanity!
Is THIS normal, Patrick?
Does the great spirit still have power? You smell burnt toast, don’t you? Fly, no. But he can leap over an inukshuk(that they are building while I am in trouble) in a single bound. Are we all going to the same party, because PA AIN’T GON’ MAKE IT! We’re not just building a Bombardier, gentlemen…we’re building a country! Mrs Trout, there’s no time! C’mon, aknowledge!
And with that, the country’s history is safeguarded for the next generation. That was fun!
Theez eez not your fight, Canadian Soljer. Not your war. Theez eez SY-proos!
for more information about the loon….
Like I say, I replied at some length but my comment was deleted. Don’t ask me why.
Yes, but you must prove it was deleted. Quickly now.
Sadly, that is impossible. There are only two people who know for sure, and one of them isn’t telling. (I better watch myself here.)
Are you suggesting some sort of conspiracy?
Game set match ^

: Stephen Harper (12:09PM)
Not the government-drug company execs sort of conspiracy- I leave that to you – but there does seem to be a continuity. Of my three deletes all came from my replies to you. The last, which quite frankly I thought was one of my better efforts, was particularly puzzling. By any chance do you have relatives on the staff of The Coast? (I better watch myself here.)
: Tomaso Furioso (12:11PM)
Thank you Tomasso. I never mentioned this before but my backhand cross-court is deadly.
A pleasure as always.
Cheerio!
I somehow already knew that? Basically I just paste the archetype of the North American white male over you, and it seems to match up pretty well. Tell me, do you own a cottage?
Well, I just paste the archetype of the Neapolitan Mafioso over you and it seems to match up pretty well. Yes, I own a cottage, or more appropriately did own one, but I found the Mafiosi were attempting to strong-arm me – they wanted a cut of the court fees – and so I decamped. It has gone down hill ever since then.
What makes you think that I don’t work for the coast? Maybe I’m the mod? So many layers to this “conspiracy”!!!
Sincerely,
SHIT-MD (Relative of a ‘The Coast’ employee)
Ass!!!
You’re the conspiracy freak, not me.
Somewhere I once read,
quote-” just because its a ‘conspiracy theory’, that in no way means it isn’t correct.”
You mean “not I”, right, MM?
RSVPS
:More (9:36AM)
If and when a “conspiracy theory” is demonstrated to be correct then, by definition, it ceases to be a “conspiracy theory” and becomes a fact. You must struggle to understand this. Further, when someone says that “somewhere I once read” something and cites no source, one knows that one is dealing with a conspiracy freak. I know that you will not understand this either.
: Stephen Harper (10:11AM)
After the use of the negative conjunction “not” as in, “You’re the conspiracy freak, not me,” I find the use of “I” to be pretentious, stilted and jarring to the ear. My innate sense of appropriate language usage trumps any Pecksniffian “correct” grammatical rendering. I know that you will not understand this. (Now, you must go and Google “Pecksniff.”)
A pleasure as always.
