But don’t they step it up to weekly in warmer weather anyway?

OP, place the bin near the corner of your property closest to the neighbor you dislike. That’s what we do. It drives him nuts with all the flies and rotting stuff inside….oh and we only take it to the curb once a month or so, after it’s nice and ripe.
