I would have to agree with you here. I went to a “bar” i wont name the bar because it would bring a bad name to the already shitty bar. So im 25 years old,have a REAL id and was turned down at the door for my friends event on sunday night. The might i add extremely rude bouncer said i needed a second piece of id! In the 7 years i have been going downtown this has never happened to me! This wasnt even a big bar! He told me to check my purse for a bank card of something, which i then said “does it look like i carry a purse?” i had my money,id,house keys and tampons in my sock for god sake! When i then called my boyfriend who was at home with our daughter (who was asleep in bed) i told him i was going to come home and grab my bank card the bouncer changed his mind yet agian and said he wouldnt accept my bank card that i needed something else!!!! Like wtf! Not only was did i bring 2 people with me who would be spending money in the bar drinking but i had 4 tickets waiting for me at the door for 4 other people to also come in and drink in their bar! I guess i wasnt dressed slutty enough, since i was wearing skater sneakers,jeans and a tank top n hoddie. Or my hair wasnt dyed bleach blonde and i wasnt wearing stilettos or hoop earrings! Im totally disgusted! Well that being said i did manage to get into the bar after the asshole bouncer realized i really did know alot of people in the bar and that my friend indeed was spinning that night, he then passed my id to another fat ass bouncer who made me spell my adress? Do you think im a freaking idiot? Just because you are a bouncer doesnt make you better then me or anyone else. If i didnt want to go into your bar so bad i would have knocked you out! AFter all that i did have fun though 🙂 I guess us REAL girls need to stand up for ourselves and kick all these fake ass blonde headed,stiletto wearing hoop earring bigger then their heads in there makeup crusted, eyes shadow up to their eye brows faces! Grrrrrr, I will stick to my own bars from now on and spend my money there to! Sick of being singled out for being real

Tara, welcome to Halifax. In my many travels, I’ve never had such a deplorable experience at bars. This is only here. In every other province, including New Brunswick, i was never treated in such a way i was here in Halifax. Also Tara, the bouncers realized you were no all over them and weren’t going to sleep with them, hence the treatement
I never had a problem getting into the skankier Halifax bars until I turned 25 either. The only problem with your ID was that it showed your real age.
i agree that Fairplay is the lowest for of life in halifax, for calling the homeless and squeegee kids the lowest life form.for some reason, my previous post in this bitch got censored.i guess the point i am trying to get across, is that the homeless and squeegeee kids arent leeches on their parents asses like 90% of the patrons at the palace/dome/cheers/pacifico/whatnot are. instead of running home to daddy every time their bank account runs dry, those people try to make an honest buck by cleaning your car window. thats more honest day’s work than any of those spoiled brats ever will do.that, and the vast majority of homeless/squeegee kids are really nice people, with messed up life stories.
How about a bitch about unwed baby mamas hanging out at bars on Sunday nights? 😉
