Ok, I grew up with The Boss, and others as voices for the blue collar/working man, and his struggle against the system.
How many blue collar workers can afford to go to one of these shows? None.
How fuckin ironic is that…nuff said! —I Work For a Living

  1. Tell me this. Does the idea of being penned into a fenced enclosure of humanure on a sweltering Moncton summer day with 70,000 other proles just to watch a giant viewscreen not seem like an Orwellian nightmare. Besides, you can still illegally download tunes with all the avarice of a 19th century robber baron and still have enough money to do your girlfriend, Mary, in her “Pink Cadillac”

  2. Uh, tons of blue collar workers are going. You know, the smart ones who can put a loonie in a jar every day. A Springsteen ticket works out to roughly 65 large coffees or 3 24’s of Labatt’s. So how much Timmies and shit beer you chug back a week, sport?

  3. Dude: You should have realized the dichotomy between the way Bruce sings and the way he lives about 25 years ago. Ring, ring! It’s the twenty-first century calling! It’s for you!

  4. Ewwwww, who drinks Labatts? I pour that shit out to make ashtrays for any company that smokes!

OB, there is a difference between “blue collar”, and some assclown that has no skills and works no talent jobs for minimum wage. I am “blue collar” and can afford to go to all the concerts I feel like attending.

  5. There’s no way this concert is attracting 70,000 people. The days of huge concerts are over in the Maritimes. The novelty has worn off

  6. I can’t believe slash hasn’t sold out yet….
all the better for me with less competition to get a decent spot.
Just means he likely won’t be returning for a long while…
if he even lasts that long.
he’s not in the best of conditions…

  7. You can’t believe Slash hasn’t sold out? Maybe it’s because he’s with a bunch of nobody’s. Really, I’m not going to a concert just because I like the guitar player.

  8. Slash and Axl, I’d pay to see. Slash alone? Not so much. I won’t pay to see Bruce Springsteen or Mellencamp either.

  9. nobodies?
Alter Bridge is pretty bad ass…
Metalingus (edge’s intro music) should garner enough chatter about going to see him.
There’s no doubting wrestling is popular pretty much everywhere.
    and Myles Kennedy rocks.

Not to mention he’s not just playing his new album…
he’s been playing GnR and velvet revolver songs in there too…
I’m amped… but feel for him.

you wouldn’t go to just hear ‘a guitarist’?
At his concert last night (july 23)… he played a solo of the godfather theme…
I’m definitely hoping to hear shit like that!

  10. Sorry, I would definitely label a band who’s claim to fame is writing a stupid wrestler’s intro as nobodies. They’re a definite shoo in for the hall of fame

  11. OP, if you can’t afford a Boss ticket, then you probably can’t afford a hockey ticket, or to take the family out to a fancy restaurant, too.

OP, I think you are a retail worker that ‘thinks’ they are blue collar.

  12. OB says, “How many blue collar workers can afford to go to one of these shows? None.”

Hmmm, that’s a sweeping generalization that I would feel safe to bet against. If your finances are tight and you can’t come up with the funds to attend the show … then you probably have little or no discretionary funds at your disposal. If it’s none … doesn’t matter if the show tickets were $10 … wouldn’t help you. And if it’s little … the show announcement was made early enough that you could have made some sacrifices in want vs. need expenditures to save the cash necessary to go.

Zed … ditto on Slash. I can’t believe the Moncton show has sold out but Halifax hasn’t. Bad for Slash and Halifax’s rep … but all the better for me and my short stature to see the stage in a general admission show.

  13. I haven’t heard about Slash coming to Halifax.When,where?
He does have a lovely mouth.
FYI-His mother was(I think she’s dead)the black woman in the mixed racial couple that was the upstairs neighbour of George Jefferson, from the old tv show Moving on Up.

  14. Sherman Hemsley died yesterday, Let’s all have a moment of silence for a true American hero, who demonstrated that an ethnic slur can be funny, so long as it sounds funny. And all us Honky Jive Turkeys laughed and laughed

  15. I used to watch that show with my honky grandparents … oh how I miss them. RIP Sherman Hemsley … your talent brought me a lot of laughs … thanks for that.

  16. “I would definitely label a band who’s claim to fame is writing a stupid wrestler’s intro as nobodies.”

    yeah, kid rock… nobody.
    Limp bizkit… nobody
    motorhead… nobody
    drowning pool … nobody

    idiot

  17. ok, fair enough it wasn’t some of their claims to fame…
but a single wrestlemania playing their song (or even them holdng a half-time concert like they have in the last few years) is more publicity than you could ever imagine.

  18. Really Fire Ragezzz, and how many CD’s have they sold? How many shows have they sold out? Huge fucking difference between the other bands you mentioned and Alter Bridge is they were already established acts, and other than Motorhead, all crap. Get your head out of your ass and stop watching fucking wrestling. What are you, 12?

  19. ” stop watching fucking wrestling. What are you, 12?”

    Hurr durr.

  20. name ANY other show with 1000 episodes, Broc.
any one. Simpsons are in 23 seasons and only half way to that milestone.

I barely watch it anymore but you just can’t deny the powerhouse it is.

  21. Best punk band I’ve ever seen live was the Dean Malenko’s and they haven’t made it big mainstream. I’m pretty sure marketing is the major factor most of the time.
