This is to the driver in the small blue SUV who blocked the intersection on the corner of North and Robie (you were heading towards the bridge) on Wednesday night at 5:25pm. Listen, there is a reason the cops are ticketing for this. It’s very simple, do not enter the intersection if you can’t get through so that you have to sit there while the light changes and you block traffic coming up Robie.

Now this is not a bitch for me as I was only mildly inconvenienced as I could squeeze through. It’s what I caught in my rear view that made me angry. Because you were sitting on the crosswalk, you caused a world of problems for the blind man crossing the way that you were now blocking by being somewhere you shouldn’t have been. Sure we all screw up… but instead of yelling directions out the window at the guy who is already surrounded by traffic noise, why not get out and get him re-oriented. Show some common sense.

Had I been able to get to the side out of traffic quicker I could have helped him, but you were right there! I know the traffic is testing everyone’s patience but we still have to look out for others. —SUV Hater

  1. legit bitch for sure! People do this all the time on all the main intersections like chebucto and mumford towards the rotary, and quinnpoll and jubilee!! LIKE fuck off you morons.

Clearly you see the light is either a. about to change or b. yellow and then red which means stop.

Secondly you see cars not moving in front of you so don’t decide to go just to sit in the middle of the entire intersection.

When I honk and give you dirty looks and the finger don’t sit there and act like you a. didn’t know it was going to happen, and b. like there is nothing you can do.

    fuck you all!

I ALWAYS do my best to avoid blocking intersections, just because there is no “sign” does’t mean you don’t have to follow it.

  2. i have seen this scenario played out, a few times… a nervous nelly at the wheel, stopped at the light, can’t go, or they would block the intersection. the genius behind them, will start laying on their horn, trying to make them move forward. nn gets freaked and moves their car forward, blocks the intersection

  3. I blocked an intersection once in Montreal. Never did it again and never will, there or anywhere. It’s simple, you don’t cross until you know there’s enough room on the other side.

  4. Very good bitch. This also drives me crazy when I see this happen. That’s when I wish I had a tank!

  5. Good bitch! These people seem to watch the car in front of them only. If they looked beyond that, they would see there’s nowhere to go. Try turning left from Commodore onto Burnside Drive in the morning, it’s a rarity when you’re not blocked.

  6. Jules: What happened? I’ve driven through Montreal and those guys are aggressive at merging, I can only imagine what they’d do to a blocked intersection.

I don’t block intersections, a huge pet peeve of mine. When I see that I just would like to take a mace or flail to the assphat’s car.

  7. I totally agree with you on this bitch, it does happen all too often. But when you do stop short, with the intent to not block the intersection, there is always that arsehole behind you honking at you to go. Once when I refused to enter the intersection, because I was going to end up blocking it, the guy behind me honked, I flipped him off, he attacked my car with a golf club. It’s best to keep your fingers on the wheel. Trust me, you have no idea what the person in the other car may do.
