To all the people who work retail…please stop complaining about working on sundays, try talking to the people who have been working sundays for year ie cooks, waitresses, fast food, movie theatres, call centre etc…so sorry that you had to join the re

I don’t just come right out and complain about it, but if you ask me about it I’m gonna damn well tell you how I feel.
Thank you, I have been making that point to co-workers of mine who do not want to work Sundays. Besides for most retail its only five hours out of your day on Sunday, it won’t kill you.
Damn skippy, I havn’t had a weekend off in several months because people always ‘called in sick’so I had to cover for them. I don’t care about Sunday shopping, maybe now they should really revise the bus schedule to reflect the new demand for Sunday traffic.
Not too mention the fact that now alot of students can make some money as apposed to only being able to work on saturdays. I wish everyone would shut up about sunday shopping. It should never have been a question in the first place. Join the rest of the country and shut up.
Fuck you all, close the stores, stay home and enjoy the day off like it should be.
That’s the point i was making Sunday Shopping Hater, that the rest of the workers still had to work when there was no sunday shopping, now i’m real real sorry that retail/grocery store workers have to join the rest of us, are you still getting a day off??? i see how you’re upset that your day off isn’t sunday anymore but just quit whinning cause that’s all it is
I worked internet technical support for two years in the dial-up era, and we were open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. For a non-essential service. When I hear poor pampered retail babies pissing and moaning about working five hours on a Sunday, all I can think of is reporting to work at 7AM on Christmas morning so I could help clueless parents hook up internet for their spoiled rotten children, thus relieving them of the responsibility of spending any family time together. Don’t come crying to me because you have to work the occasional Sunday – and don’t let me see your hypocritical ass at the movie theatre that night, either.
I work at Sobeys and I have no problem working on Sunday but I know for damn sure that some of you hypocritical assholes against Sunday shopping were at Sobeys on Sunday because we were just as busy, if not busier than Saturday
Nobody likes when rules get changed mid game, especially under sketchy circumstances. There are lots of people, myself included, who chose their place of work based on knowing their store would be closed on Sundays; As opposed to working as a clerk, florist, pharamist, butcher, in another outlet that would be open Sunday! Silly us for making a choice based on the existing laws in Nova Scotia! I for one would never choose to work in a call center as I KNOW what i’m getting into, and would not want that sort of work schedule. Oh, and for all you “now we’re equall” smug people, Realize the next law loophole to be uncovered is Minimum Wage. Really why should some employees get the luxury of being paid more when the rest of the world earns 10cents an hour? I’m sure the corporations can find away around those pesky labour laws, and I know the consumers will be happy with the cheaper prices. Sounds great huh?
