To hell with the spca (though they are a wonderful organization and I support them fully), that picture and a report should be going to the rcmp. Animal abuse is very serious and, unfortunately, very much ignored. Please alert the police about this, who knows, they might actually care. Kuddos to you for giving a S*#T though.

I witnessed that incident too. The dog had just lunged viciously at a small boy on skateboard. One of the other squeegie kids just barely grabbed that dog’s leash in time to stop it taking a chunk out of that kid. That was her idea of disciplining the dog. Small wonder it’s viscious.
well, let’s see. up front everyone shouldn’t own a dog. just because you can doesn’t mean you should. obviously if attitude correction for a dog involves hammering the animal, the owner doesnt know squat about dogs to start with.obviously the dog is not trained, is in a potentially unsafe location in the first place enhanced by obvious lack of training, and I suppose a pretty decent argument could be made re should these people have a dog in their possession in the first place.Hope you proceed with this. Where I come fron (Ontario) people like this approach your car one step off that curb and they have a date with the back of a police car. See there, the police actually get out of there cars pretty regular and law enforcement is what they do. Here, well another story. I will maneuver to avoid your dog, but I’d put you six feet under without a though.

Why the hell to street kids have doga anyway…you live on the street!! You squeege money for yourself, why do you think you can properly care for another life…obviously you have no idea how…you are a pathetic piece of crap..I am praying that your dog gets away from you…
You that has always bothered me, someone unable or unwilling (regardless of the reason) to hold a steady job can have a pet, when there is such an obvious conflict of the pets well being. If you can’t properly take care of yourself…this includes not only working but personal hygiene and diet, how can you be ALLOWED to have an animal under your supervision? I agree with the T.’s standard practice of enforcing the laws they have placed on the “books”. It is on the books here: it’s called panhandling and I am almost certain that it is illegal in most provinces, just like hitch hiking, they are on the books because it’s for everyones safety, pedestrians aren’t supposed to be on the roads or highways…that’s why we have SIDEWALKS. HALIFAX REGIONAL POLICE – Enforce the laws as they were intended and please look out for all the morons that can’t look out for themselves…or their pets.
