If your dog is barking non-stop and clearly wants to be let in, then let it the fuck in. If you’re going to have a big, loud-ass dog in the city, let it be loud inside your house. – Corker

Holy fuck, I know right? There’s a pair of fucking beagles a couple houses down from me, and they are constantly barking to be let in. Its incessant.
Beagles are barkers, big time. They can smell anything in a ten mile radius and it sets them off on a barking frenzy. High energy barkers need to be walked, a lot.
Maybe you should take Clifford in? Big ass dogs are lovely companions!
I was living in the Canadian Arctic (Inuvik, NT) and I had a neighbor who had this dog. It was just a young dog… just a pup… perhaps 6 months old… husky type dog. Anyways… the dog was always chained outside… even on blistering cold nights (-40) The poor little bugger would be whimpering and screeching and yipping for hours and hours and hours… night after night. Finally I went over to this guys house and knocked. I asked him if he would take his dog inside because it was so cold and the dog is making a very serious fuss perhaps because of the cold. He tells me that “that is an “outside” dog and is built for the cold… fuck off.”… so I did. Then called animal control and they took the dog. Ignorant people shouldn’t have pets.
Big ass kittehs, too, Donkster

What gets me is the people who can’t even care for, or control a dog….they think that they will be/are good parents.
Blue is 50% Husky, sometimes I have to drag him indoors, but he definitely likes being warm and cosy overnight (he sleeps in my room). Dogs are social animals, they NEED to spend time with their pack/family. Leaving them outside all the time tells them that they’re not part of the pack, just outsiders 🙁
Painy – Can I drop Blue & CharLeigh off for 20 minutes again todday?
I think I would call the SPCA and see if there is anything that can be done. I can’t imagine trying to sleep at night and contending with barking dogs. What an irritation that would be!
op, make a noise complaint to the city. obviously no appeals to the heart will work with the moron. if they get fined, perhaps they will give up the dog and he can go to a better home.
wog, spca can do nothing unless the dog is at death’s door. the animal protection act in this province is a disgrace.
trying to get a change in the act to limit the 24/7 tethering of dogs here. anyone interested the FB site is ‘people for dogs’, and i can be reached at gooddogmolly@hotmail.com
Police non-emergency 490 5020. Noise complaints can be registered anytime of day or night. And YOU can decide if you want to have them fined! Works for my (now non-noisy) neighbors!
what i have never been able to figure out is the yokels who claim they want a dog to ‘guard’ but chain him up outside. so he is helpless to stop anyone from waltzing into the house and back out again loaded with electronics etc. the dog has to be INSIDE the house, untied and full run of the house. barking away outside doesn’t do a thing. the neighbours have been ignoring it since the day after the dog arrived.
thanks SOHI99,
You gave me the answer to 53 across in today’s metro…

HA hA. no problem microwave. Too funny
sorry! it’s hotmail.ca. doh!
I have newish neighbours, the house owner is a nurse and works shifts, she thinks nothing of letting her mutt out at 3 a.m. to shit and bark. I’ve called Animal Control and the by-law is; the dog has to be continuously barking for a minimum of 20 minutes for them to act.
I can see a nasty accident in fido’s future, fish hooks in the hamburger ball works fine and dandy.
Nothing a burlap sac and a brick can’t fix.
Is that the alternative to you’z who can’t afford enough quarters and a decent tube sock?
