We have all had enough snow and the ice makes it worse the roads are crowed more so than normal and on some streets there is barely enough room to squeeze one car through and the ice covering the roads now have potholes…. So I have to ask why some people decided to take their bicycles and throw themselves in to the mix.
I have kept my mouth shut about the Bike Lanes and the fact cyclists don’t need insurance, a license, or anything else that makes them responsible for their actions on the roads and that the drivers have a bunch of laws thrown at them to make sure that the cyclists are protected.
But I saw three different people on bikes from Friday to Sunday trying to make their way through the snarled blocked roads making it even harder on the beaten down and tired motorists. There seems to be something not right with these people and I for one would like the police to take their bikes and impound them give the cyclist a ticket for being a road hazard….
This was just too much I would have taken a photo but I was trying not to hit a parked car or get a ticket for using my cell phone while driving.
Common Sense people don’t let it die keep it alive… —Tom

When Common Sense collides with Self -Entitlement, even the sidewalks are no longer safe.
That is the JOY of winter biking! Not only are there no gas, licensing or insurance costs, but we get to slow you down even more. It cost me less than $100 to operate my bike last year… gas prices are on the rise as the crocuses start to stir. Convert now. But, you won’t listen, will you?
I’m not a cyclist but I defend the right of cyclists to perform death defying acts of commuting.
They should be told to get a horse.
Too much of the same old same old, so will stick to two things:
a) Entitlement. I don’t see it so much as entitlement as a need to get somewhere.
b) ” beaten down and tired motorists.”
Oh, poor poor motorists. Here, have a sucky… http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thing?.out…
for some it’s their sole means of transportation. get over it, spring is coming.
I was at a friend’s place a couple weeks ago who lives by a lake.. I saw a couple snowmobiles that were traversing the length and thought that was pretty cool. All of a sudden i heard the familiar sound of a motorcycle, i looked and had to rub my eyes believing i was seeing things.
Maybe the herb had more of a kick than i was accustomed to, but it was in fact a motorcycle just booting down the lake. I can’t picture a bike doing that unless it was equipped with ice spikes on the tires.
I told my friends about that and i could see by the look on their faces they were thinking i was hallucinating, until i heard the bike coming back up and they saw for themselves.
Mastercard could never put a price on that moment.
‘Beaten down and tired motorist’… oh poor baby in his car, such a hard life.
I’ve driven around Halifax for years and once in a while in the winter I’ll have to slow my car down to the cyclists speed until I can safely get around them. On the other hand I could bitch daily about what people do with their cars on the road.
-Not even a cyclist
I like horses. We had surprisingly few of them up in Tarsand country, so I, for, one, am always delighted to see them.
I know they create other problems on city roads, but I still find it lovely to hear their wonderful clop-clop-clopping on the pavement.
So yeah, horses! Way cooler than bikes. (But admittedly more expensive to maintain, soooooo . . . )
“cyclists don’t need insurance, a license, or anything else that makes them responsible for their actions on the roads”
Not this shit again.
Show me ONE FUCKING EXAMPLE of a pedestrian or cyclist killed by a cyclist. JUST ONE. I’ll cut my own dick off if you find me a bike that right hooked a car and killed the driver.
Insurance mainly covers injuries not the vehicles.
I have to admire winter cyclists especially this winter. They’re taking their life in their hands. I wouldn’t trust motorists as far as I could throw them.
“beaten down and tired motorists” lol… wtf
When are some car owners going to get it through their thick windshields… bicycles are a legitimate mode of transportation! A bicycle slowing you down is just the same as a car with shitty tires slowing you down: a nuisance to you, sure, but legally allowed to be on the road, no matter how slow the go.
Instead of taking it personally, look around you and be grateful, you’re warm, sitting on a cushy seat, you’re dry, you’re probably listening to music, maybe you have a hot coffee in your hand…and you’re paying through the nose for those privileges.
Cyclists may have no other choice for transportation, they may really enjoy the exercise and challenge of cycling, they may actually be nuts! Who knows. What I do know, is your problems with cyclists are just that: your problems.
Quit your bellyaching, and have patience. Maybe go for a bike ride around the city, so you can have a little perspective, and maybe appreciate how dangerous drivers on the road can be.
maybe, op, you could just do the sensible thing and slow down and share the FUCKING ROAD with other legitimate users.
Evan…
tsk tsk.

plenty to choose from.
thankfully, I think your dick may remain intact as killing a driver with a bike would be pretty tough.
