What the hell is wrong with you?! Why did you have to steal my bike, AGAIN? And not from downtown like last year, but from where I live! Fool me twice, yeah, and I feel like shit for thinking I was somehow safer here near DAL. Thanks for that lesson too, bike thief, I still hate you just as much as last time and maybe a little more. Who are you this time? May I find out? The least you could have done was wait til after I had done the charity bike run next weekend. Jerk. I got my bike back last time. I WILL try to get it back again. Let’s just hope that horseshoe is still up there.
And apologies to all the innocent riders I will inadvertently stare at in the next few weeks. I promise I am not planning on taking your bike. Unless your bike is actually mine. —Just Another Victim of Bike Theft

lol Having your bike stolen just fucking sucks. Makes you feel 6 years old.
That sucks!!Are you locking your bike up?…living closer to Dal doesn’t mean anything. Your just surrounded by alot of other poor students that need transportation. I think I would be bringing my bike inside in the future.
i never read anything about you calling the cops in your bitch o.p.? did you yet? they might not be able to do fuck all anyway. do you realize just how many bikes are swiped in halifux everyday, i don’t know the number, but i bet it is more than 20.
bikes are an easy 20 bucks or so for a crackhead, and if you leave it for even a second, it drives off by itself. a few years ago, i had two ripped off from me, here in my building. i had a good idea who took them. one was mine, the other my neice’s. i just sort of knocked on one door, and just casually stated, that if my property wasn’t returned in the same condition it was in, when stolen. that i would hunt down the three people that i thought were the culprits, and put a very fucking severe hurt on them. the next morning, lo and behold, they were back, all nice and tidy, the people in that certain apartment moved out shortly after that. go fucking hunting them o.p., and do a good job on the piece of shit or shits.
Lock up your bike. We don’t live in Holland. Some people are dicks around here and take things that aren’t nailed down.
hey o.p., you might want to give this guy a call, and tell him about your bike.

It was inside, but behind not a locked door, and not locked itself. Naive, I know.
Police report was filed, and closed immediately due to “low solveability factors” but the serial number is now in a Canada-wide registry if it shows up anywhere.
I have no idea who would’ve taken it. No leads. They took mine and left a few other bikes untouched. Apparently they did take someone’s helmet though.
I’m watching Kijiji, I’ve notified the shops, I’m hunting in any way I can think of.
Thanks for the advice LIFE SUCKS and the link, it’s appreciated!
Maybe a car stole it…. 🙂
“the serial number is now in a Canada-wide registry if it shows up anywhere.”
where???
like they’re going to use it in a robbery and check the numbers once it’s impounded?
you have to either lock them up or ENSURE they are unique and distinguishable by sight.
reminded me of an old biker story my step dad told me a while back.
no idea why since it’s not really related … but whatever.
so this biker went into a biker bar where a lot of angels were hanging out.
He knew a few since he was trying to get recruited. (this is 30+ yrs back btw)
This happened to be a big day for him though he didn’t know it.
One of his buddies was ragging out his ride to a few other friends… which he took offense to, obviously. When he confronted them, (daring to say the least) they asked to go see for themselves what a piece of shit he had. Sure enough, he led them to his underpowered, cheap, crappy bike.
not only did they laugh and ridicule him, they also tipped it over, dragged it down the street a ways and hung it in a tree.
Pissed though certainly outnumbered there wasn’t much he could do but go back, drink, and try to forget about it.
when they got back to the bar, his buddy laughed and said, “don’t worry… you’ve got a ride now. Can’t hang with us on that piece of shit. You’ll make us all look like pussies.”
handed him keys to his new hog and said, “there’s only one rule. Once you put this key in the ignition… you never take it out again. Trust me, you don’t have to.”
no-one would DARE steal that bike…
Put tassles and baloons one your next bike. No self respecting hoodlum would be caught dead riding on a clowns bike j/k
I heard on the news that MEC is lending you a bike for the charity event you signed up for 🙂 Awesome! Sucks about your bike though. Hope you are reunited.
