was this a bicycle or a motobike? This is one reason I hate bikes being on roads because they are slower and do not speed up as quick as car’s plus you have no protection for your body. However the guy who nearly killed your bf was horrible in not helping the poor guy regardless of what he thought of bikes on the road. I would help anyone who was hurt by the cause of who the hell cares someones in pain for christ sake help them
Bullshit, they’re slower. Last wednesday, I passed over 300 cars on my way home from work. I even counted down when they passed me back. And I live/work on the peninsula.You do realize that we’re REQUIRED BY LAW to drive on the road and you’re REQUIRED BY LAW to treat us as you would another vehicle. If you don’t like it, maybe you could advocate for some freaking bike lanes around here, instead of wasting our resources mangling the rotary and Chebucto road.
crowther – according to the motor vehicle act, slower vehicles are supposed to remain as far to the right as possible and not be a hazard. I would like to see bicycles treated the same as farm tractors or other slower vehicles with a triangle sign. Motor vehicle drivers have the right to overtake a slower moving vehicle if, and only if, the conditions allow it to be done safely.Now you say you passed 300 cars the other afternoon. How many of those passes were illegal ones on the curb side or even passing vehicles on the left or right with a left or right turn signal activated? Are you one of those cyclists that passes a truck on the right side as they swing wide to make a right turn? What about ignoring traffic lights or signs? Passing vehicles stopped for a pedestrian is another one.Congrats if you are a responsable cyclist but the your fellow cyclists leave a lot to be desired when it comes to sharing the roads.
mmm bikes are slower than cars a bikes top speed is ?????? 50 maybe? a car at least 130 km/h Bikes can be annoying and nerve racking on the road. Also they accelerate far slower than a car does so stay over to the side of the road.
