I was a customer at a fast food restaurant in Woodside. I eat there often because I work at the hospital. I was waiting for someone to serve me and it took forever, this is not why I am never going back. I am never going back because I overheard a fight and the word “faggot” was mentioned by one of their workers directed at another staff member. I am gay and very offended! I can’t believe it! I left as soon as I heard those words fly out of that worker’s mouth! —Upset Customer

  1. Gays do not usually take offense to the word “faggot” so not sure what pizzed u off…..perhaps it was the wait for your din-din

  2. You’re goin’ piss off OP real good with your use of the word “queer,” sebastard!

  3. Koda, I can’t speak for every gay man in all of the world, but I can tell you that being called a faggot is indeed something I take offense to, along with the greater majority of people in this community.
If you wanna test your theory that we don’t take offense, get a megaphone and yell it repeatedly on the side of Spring Garden Road during the Pride Parade.
I’m positive the results will educate you.

  4. PC police out in full force….. no more faggot or gay or retard cuz someone might get their panties in a bunch.

grow up…. your mock outrage is compensating for something else.

we really are becoming a pussified society. Sac up and focus on more important things in your life.

    that is all

  5. This entire thread must be deleted like any of my posts are.

For sebastian: meth is probably cheap there.

  6. I feel the customer had every right to be mad but maybe that’s because one of my best friends is gay and I’ve had to watch the torment he had to go through growing up. No, the staff might not have been calling a gay person a faggot as it seems to just be another word that has somewhat changed meanings today but I can definitely see how someone would get offended. If I was with my gay friend and they overheard somebody else calling somebody else a faggot, I don’t think he would care but it still might make him think of the shit and horrible things he had to go through.

  7. Oldhand is back and polluting the board with his blatant anti-Semitism. Meanwhile he has a hard-on for the Notorious Do-N-Air. I’m still laughing.

  8. i guess o.p., if it wasn’t directed at you, it shouldn’t matter much. although your poor little feelin might have been bruised, you picked the wrong place, in coming here to whine about it. flame on people..

  9. While I’m not fond of hearing it used in an argument (seeing as I am a “faggot”), I wouldn’t leave an establishment over it. If they were calling ME a faggot while they served me, sure, or if maybe they were calling their co-worker that intentionally to hurt their feelings, knowing that they’re gay, sure. Otherwise, meh, fuck it. It’s not the business’ fault, it’s the dumbass’ fault. And, unfortunately, morons need to work too. Gotta pay their baby mama somehow.

  10. your secret is safe with me mel^^ i don’t want the wpp to move us again

  11. A tad oversensitive. If the person had said bitch, bastard, cunt, shit, or motherfucker, would the OB still not go back?

  12. Can’t the dumb fucks who work in these sorts of places learn to shut up and just do their job. Customers are there to be served, not to listen to a bunch of neds argue with each other. The quality of service in Canada sucks. People would expect a tip for jerking off. (Of course OP may well feel they deserve it from his particular point of view.)

  13. WTF is up with all you assholes ragging on the OP?

If you really believe that people have the right to say what they want using whatever words that they want, then you also have to accept that other people have just as much of a right to be offended by what they say and the words they say it with and call them out for it. You can’t have it one way without the other.

But regardless of whether or not you personally think a gay person being offended by the word “faggot” is justified or not (like any of them give a fuck about your approval), it’s in no way appropriate to use that kind of language at work, especially in the service industry… let alone in front of customers! Completely unprofessional and not acceptable. And what the fuck does it matter who it was directed to? Would you berate a black person for being offended after hearing the n-word just because it wasn’t directed at them? Fuck no. Slurs by definition target groups of people, otherwise it wouldn’t be a slur it’d just be an insult.

OP, If you really want them to know why they are losing your business go back one more time and talk to the manager. Tell them exactly what you heard their employee saying and exactly why it offended you. I wouldn’t count on them reading this bitch and I think it’s important for shitty customer service workers to be called out.

  14. Faggot is a hateful word and should not be tolerated. Bro Tim, as insulting as it can be to call someone a ‘bitch’ or ‘motherfucker’, it just doesn’t have the same hateful associations as “faggot”.. think of it like the n-word. I’m sure people would be outraged if they had called the guy a nigger instead of a faggot.. both are hateful words and have no place in our society.

  15. as a follower of those who formerly said Ni, I am offended by your frivolous use of the word ‘it’.
Please stop saying that or you will not make your way through the bitch board…..
    alive….

  16. Miss Manners says, and this is a direct quote: “The only time it is acceptable to call a person a “faggot” is when you can clearly taste shit on his cock, and even then, it’s a judgement call”

    Everyone clear on that?

  17. lol this thread got trashy real quick. Shouldn’t use words like that on the job. I’m all for gay rights and I’m also all for the right to call someone a faggot, but not at work. You should have said something OP. I heard a similar story from a gay co worker at my old job. It was I believe a grocery store. He spoke to the manager right then and there.
