Amen brother.NS, NB and PEI are the ONLY provinces in the country and likely only governments on the continent that do this and it’s all for basically nothing. There was actually a study done by a Queens(?) student that followed the effectiveness of annual cash grabs…sorry inspections and guess what – they made absolutely zero difference to safety at all!All this does is once again screw the local consumer into paying needless and very high amounts to achieve nothing. I had imagined that the new rules would maybe roll back some of this garbage but instead….requirements were actually increased! Not even the garages are on board this time!If this backward government actually wants to do something productive with cars, get rid of these stupid inspections and implement a program of emissions testing as other provinces do. That way, polluting vehicles get taken off the road and hey, maybe, just maybe, they will have one program based in logic instead of garbage opinions playing to safety grannies that don’t actually achieve anything anyway
How about that bullshit about not raising HRM property taxes but raising the assessment value of your house? How fucking stupid do they think we are?Just thinking about how we are all ripped on on a daily, ongoing basis makes me want to retch with rage.
