We’re thrown into this world without having a say about the matter, then we have to face a life-long series of struggles like getting our hearts broken, worrying about what others think of us, making sure we have enough food to feed our family and ourselves, dealing with the fact that our bodies are slowly decaying..etc, etc. AND we have to do all of this knowing that we’re going to die but we don’t know when, or how, its going to happen.

So, props to everyone who gets out of bed every (or at least some) days and does what they can to live an authentic, meaningful, and peaceful life in spite of it all. —Existential Crisis (Partially) Averted

  1. Two for two Molly. It’s “I like to move it, move it”

Ivan is quite correct as to the species on my avatar.

  2. You’re way too funky for Shady Pines GDM….now, if Soul Train ran a FunkyFolksHome, it would be a different story;)

  3. I really would have to be dragged, kicking and screaming like a newfie, into any kind of rest home. next house is going to be so far off the beaten track there won’t even be bones left to find after I kick.

  4. I would be happy to hike, portage, surf, and/or sail out to bring you your supplies GDM!! I would bring my dog, Ralphie, along too, just so the two of you could embark on an epic long-distance love affair!! I could probably get rich penning a story and a country tune out of the whole schamozzle (or should I say “schamuzzle’ ;D)!

  5. ralphie is a total cutie-patootie. he would be instantly mobbed by my maniacs.
I want an island so I can have LOTS more dogs, and cats in every windowsill, and goats to keep the scrub down. and chickens in a really big (but dog proof) yard. and geese so the dogs don’t get too full of themselves.
re the actual post, – get a dog – you’ll have to drag your sorry ass out of bed each morning because that wet nose and big brown eyes cannot be ignored. but really, if you feel that life is a drag, find the good and wonderful things. they are there, everywhere. and all free. the sky is gorgeous – it always shows up and you can find it everywhere. its ever changing. wind is fabulous. trees! stand under a tree and look up thru the leaves! listen to the leaves of different trees, they play different music. watch water, even in a sink, its magical. be quiet, still and observe.
