I just moved into ocean towers. I’m from Ontario and was totally oblivious to any bed bug problem. I have been here for a month now, I’ve had the apartment sprayed 3 times to try to solve the problem. And still my apartment is infested, I’m still finding live bugs. I’m COVERED in bites and itchy as hell! I’ve never even seen a bed bug before. My problem is that the building has infested all of my furniture and belongings, not that I have infested the building. What about us victims? Finally after bitching my face off they have allowed me to change apartments. First 5 minuets I was in the “clean” apartment in the same building, I killed 2 cockroaches and 1 bed bug. This is not my fault nor resposibility! I’m now switching towers. But who is going to pay to replace everything? I can’t move any of my furniture or belongings in fear of infesting the new unit. (if it isn’t all ready). So far no signs of bugs, but how can I be certin? I was better off in the little crappy apartment I was in before I moved here. Why should I have to pay a penny for any of this? I’ve vaccumed my face off, washed and dried more laundry then I have in my whole life! I just want out of here! Why is this not a health issue? I can’t live like this!

Needs Sleep!!!

  1. This problem with bed bugs has been going on with O.T. since 2002 (before it was even O.T.) Call residential tenancies and start a hearing at 424-5200. Call Dawn Sloane, CouncillorDistrict 12, Halifax, NS B3K 3R2Telephone : 902-490-4752

  2. PS there are other bitches on here from others in your situation, you will have to go back aways to find them, but you are not alone

  3. yup that is the big blue sign people, go to halifax coalition against poverty they helped me get out of my lease with them! best of luck

  4. Word of advice… take the loss and run. You’ll be far better off in the long run to just get the hell out of there. I feel really bad for you, but as a former tenant… just cut your losses and RUN! DO NOT move into another apartment in the buildings! Those towers have not eradicated bed bugs in over 2.5 years, so don’t think they’ll be cleaned up anytime soon.

  5. I lived there myself and I concur entirely with Leah, cut and run and don’t turn back. Worst place to live ever.
