What was with the overzealous people in HRM yesterday? I understand that it was a warm day, but did you have to dress like you were going to a beach party? —No Skin Showing Except on My Arms and Legs

  1. I, for one, was enjoying the attire of most of the young ladies out and about yesterday, but to each their own.

  2. The weather yesterday more than doubled the temperature records set for that date. Plus it was hot as hell outside, some places as high as 26 degrees. That would have been a gorgeous day during ANY summer.

If it’s hawt, get as nakey as you legally can!

  3. Looooot of people out there who didn’t consider what 10 years and 40 pounds would do to a half-assed, culturally dated tat, though. Jesus Christ.

  4. jesus o.p., people were actually happy to feel the warm and see some sun for a change. i was at point pleasant park, for the whole day with my little bugaboo, and we had a ball. the water was not warm as i would have liked, but wasn’t that cold either. i would not let her go in, and she was upset, til i explained what goes into that water out there. she changed her mind in a hurry.
but it was beautiful for hiking, and these old legs, took in all the trails and paths in the park. didn’t miss one of them. so yeah, i can see someone wanting to bebeach ready or at least feel cool yesterday, after all, it did get up to 29 degrees.

  5. Who cares, OB? Get a life. I was dressed in a t-shirt in jeans, but I don’t pay attention to what other people are wearing. Maybe they *were* going to a beach party.. and if they weren’t, like I said, who cares?

  6. not where we were, or for the entire time we spent. and as to eye candy, oh yeah, plenty of that about, and yes, i looked.

  7. OB, not everyone can afford to go south for March Break, so don’t be hatin’ them who want to feel the sun.

(and don’t forget sunscreen, ffs! I am in self imposed purdah after getting some ‘freckles’ lased Monday.)

  8. Fuck off Op. If you want to die of heat go ahead. Others wanted to enjoy the weather while it lasted. We knew it wouldn’t last long. Most took advantage of it while it was here. If you didn’t like seeing people wearing summer clothes then why didn’t you stay inside all day? Yesterday was a perfect day to get out and enjoy the sun. Not too often in March you can wear your summer clothes.

  9. What’s your number OP? I’ll just check with you before I leave the house to make sure you approve of my attire, cuz that’s SO important to me. Get bent.

  10. I don’t want to come off as a wanker or old fogie, and I certainly enjoyed all of the tail walking around yesterday (yes, even you chicks with the beer bellies jigglin’) I gotta say, I feel bad for the non-students who still live in the student ghetto. I bet the locals are glad most of them don’t stick around for the summer months.

  11. A bottle of white wine a bottle of red, some chopped fruit, crushed ice, presto home made sangria, afternoon on the deck sipping wine & soaking up rays with my honey …priceless

  12. Considering the “summer” Halifax had last year I am going to make sure that I take advantage of every +20 degree weather that Halifax has. Get a life. If you don’t like it don’t look.

  13. It was stinkin hot Thursday. I was sweating in my shirt and cargo pants. Wore shorts and a sleeveless shirt today walking home from the gym with those lovely 70 km winds making feel like 0 degrees C. What a switch!!

  14. OB, I take it that you didn’t go anywhere near a beach last Thursday.
For your information, a lot of beaches were quite full. So maybe the people “dressed like they were going to a beach party”, were.
