The nutrags are everywhere, even in places where they shouldn’t be. Wait until they start yowling about ‘smoke-smelling’ clothing – that’s when those fuckers will get a mouthful of knuckles from yours truly.
It’s started already – a bus driver said to me about my companion who was smoking “tell your friend if he wants to get on the bus, he can’t smoke right before coming on. It smells up the whole bus with the breath and the clothing”As a mother of small children, I am now constantly faces with groups of smokers in building enterances…kids learn by seeing, so I can’t help but wonder what the paper-pushers are up to.Small bars are floundering, and this is after they spent thousands to comply with the LAST time smokers were targeted.It seems that it is legal to sell ’em, and for the government to make millions, but it is not legal to smoke ’em.
I totally agree with you, poster and to intensify the shock value, when I relocated back to Montreal, they banned the same as you had mentioned.Imagine no smoking in Montreal, not even a smoking room.In a club downtown, people are standing outside.There is no such thing as a ‘smoking room’ there and if they still exists here, consider yourself fortunate, smokers.
It’s true that it’s silly and unfair to have made the bars build smoking rooms and then have them made useless within a few months. However, that doesn’t negate two other truths:1. Smokers are grossies2. No one is making you throw your butts all over the city. It’s simply bad behavior and you have no one to blame but yourself.
Rebecca- you’re an idiot! yes smoking is grosse- but up until 25 years or more ago- the world didn’t give a shit if it caused cancer or that others around smokers were suffering. Society was brainwashed with all that advertising that it was cool to smoke, teenage girls learned that it suppressed their appetites, boys looked tougher if they smoked, and once they started they were hooked. Addicts were create around the world, children learned from their addicted parents- so on and so on. Now the world is changing and people have learned others can affect their health so the government in an attempt to look positive, creates these hypocritical laws that forces people to become second class citizens because they learned from their parents how to smoke! yet this government refuses to outlaw smoking because of the revenue it generates! it’s bullshit!people can’t be expected to put cigarettes out in their hands and then carry them around until they find a garbage. Critizing people who smoke does not resolve any issues – it just creates more!Shit or get off the pot, Canada!
I will respect any non-smoker his/her right not to have to breathe in my cigarette fumes but I draw the fucking line on them telling me I can’t smoke in a sealed off, well-ventilated room. I have no rights, you say? Well, until the government makes them illegal, I indeed have a say. So fuck off, you do-gooder asshats and go suck a stump. If I want to smoke and throw my butts on the street because there are no public ashtrays, then that’s tough tittie.
You’re an idiot. I’ve been a smoker for years. And I’m not proud of that. But I always carry my cig butts in my pocket until I find a suitable receptacle, like a garbage can. It isn’t hard to remove the heater, drop it and step on it, then put the remaining butt into your pocket. Grow up. Clean up after yourself.
