Ok, I’m just putting this out there. Just like every other neighbourhood you live in has its good spots and bad spots. I am so tired of hearing this. Not all of Spryfied is bad. Not all of Fairview is bad. Not all of the north end is bad. Every community has its faults and darker areas so seriously stop saying all these places are “bad”. You probably haven’t even lived there to know. Well I’ve lived in 3 “bad places” I grew up in a 3 story house in a very quiet nice neighbourhood in Spryfield. North end of Halifax, I lived there too. Not in the best part but 7 minutes away was my best friend in a very nice place. Where nothing ever happened so stop associating the word “bad” with all these neighbourhoods. For fuck sakes there is crime and dives everywhere you go. —Good Girl From “Bad” Places

no place is ‘bad’ if you come prepared….
it’s hard not to feel safe with this.

I’m sure Crenshaw isn’t bad to some folks …
*le shrug*
Okay OP, we’ll stop calling them “bad” and say “not the best”
I know OP 🙂 And the thing is.. halifax isn’t BIG enough to have a truly BAD neighbourhood. Look at any “bad” neighbourhood (barring a few..) and you’ll see pockets of rich, poor, educated, uneducated etc etc..
That’s one of those things that makes halifax awesome.
again, just mind yo’ bidniss and live on floor 2 or higher and there won’t be problems.
neighbourhoods are like houses some of them have more *character* i find the north/west of halifax has a good funky mix, and i don’t just mean the smell^^
Those places are thug infested shitholes. Any better???
while your bitch is simple to answer, i won’t. i like the bad girls, from good places. they do more strange shit, than the others.
While I agree that there are nice houses that don’t suffer the wrath of a bad neighborhood. I also have a child to consider. If I move into a trashy neighborhood, I have to assume that the public school experience of my child will be affected.
In any case, define “bad”. I’d say that the sociopaths, abusive or neglectful parents, alcoholic relatives, bullies, thieves, jealous and back-stabbing folks, false friends, cowards and all-round assholes are evenly distributed through all strata of society…which means that every neighbourhood has its fair, equitable share.
There’s as much bad shit that happens in an uppercrust neighbourhood as in a poor one. You just don’t hear about it so much. There may be more *legal* crime that happens in one spot as compared to another, but that’s all surface badness anyway.
