I consider myself a patron to the gay scene in Halifax, but right now your choices involve a sketch fest or a dive.
The least any bar can play is good bumpin’ music. I love going out downtown but big cover and lame music = no crowd and lame music. There is no way there should be a Whitney Houston song played every Saturday night at any bar (God rest her soul!).
Let’s get a good DJ in some of these gay bars downtown and bring some young crowds out. You don’t play for yourself as a DJ or your heyday back in the 80s; NO MADONNA OR WHITNEY AT THE GAY BAR!
You can raise your cover all you want, but if the music ain’t bumpin’ there ain’t nobody humpin’. —Don’t Want to Dance with somebody!
