What is wrong with your eyes? Are you to stupid to look for people crossing the road? Or are you just a total ass and don’t care? What’s up with all these people who got a licence but can’t seem to see when one is crossing in a CROSSWALK? Not all people cross the safe way but some do try and well you morons who don’t look and hit or almost hit should have your licence taken away for a few years to learn how to drive right. —Tired of Bad Drivers

  1. o.p., bad drivers or walkers even, are a fact of life, as we know it. people tend to be idiots sometimes, and do rash and unforseen things without any reasoning behind it. these are the ones that fill graves. then you have others that are just as fucking stupid, and believe they have some type of invisible force field around them. these too, are soon to be roadkill.
think it’s bad now, wait til just before christmas, with a little snow added for fun.

  2. Ironic that this bitch would follow “Crosswalk Etiquette”. The other side of the story so to speak.

  3. “Dumb founded” probably got home to type their bitch faster than “tired of bad drivers” because they weren’t on foot…

  4. A few times I’ve almost gotten an arse full of fender while in a crosswalk, especially at places where drivers are not looking out for cross traffic (Robie & Welsford, for example). I cross lane by lane; checking that each lane is safe. Right-of-way isn’t enough.

  5. Thats what happened to my dog. He was fat, but we loved him. How he cherished Big Mac Monday all those years ago.

  6. Bottom Line folks! Pay attention! Especially the peds. There’s enough distractions for motorists as it is.

When I cross a street at intersections, I make eye contact with the driver(s) both ways.

Some drivers may be in a rush due to chronic shit syndrome.

  7. I agree with paying attention. I draw the line at entitlement, from either side.

Did you know? All intersections are to be considered crossings, whether marked or not. Even the Bay Rd. with its small unmarked side streets.

  8. i agree op… some people are just dicks. But please, please, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you are VISIBLY planning to cross the street. Please.

because if you’re crossing at night, between parked cars, or suddenly deciding you want to cross and hop into the street, WE CAN’T SEE YOU as easily as if the situation were perfect.

Our license is to drive. Not to see through time and space.

if you are careful and give me ample warning that you plan to cross, i promise. I am one of the ones who will always stop for you.

  9. It seems to me that most accidents that are occuring are NOT at a traditional crosswalk but rather a light, where a person turning left (against oncoming traffic) or right hits the pedestrian. I DO always make eye contact when crossing in front of a car turning right (I have the green; they are turning right on a red), however it is virtually impossible to make eye contact when crossing the street and someone is turning left, especially when there are cars driving through the intersection. I usually look ahead (or behind) and see if there is a break in traffic, as with the break will usually come a car gunning to get through their turn. I shouldn’t have to resort to so much checking, but sadly some drivers seem downright SHOCKED that there are people actually crossing the street. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again (and I usually get called names for this)….I wish all drivers had to park their car for one month a year and actually walk or take the bus, I think it would result in a greater appreciation and respect on the road. And I’m not picking on drivers either, it’s just that if you are packing 2,000 lbs of steel at 50km/hour you can be a lethal weapon; show some respect.
