I hate when they rag on the audience for not laughing. If no one is laughing it’s probably because your joke is lame. When I go out to see some comedy, I want to either laugh or not laugh (preferably the former, but I don’t mind the latter). What I don’t want is for someone to make me feel “mean” for not pity-laughing. It’s sad. If you want to test your jokes on an audience that will always laugh, try your Mom. —Enjoyer of Stand Up Comedy

  1. Fuck you OP. Comedians rag on the audience to offset the awkwardness of not getting any laughs from a joke. Often the audience will laugh at the jokes (ragging) at their expense. It’s about keeping the routine going. There isn’t a comedian in existence that has never bombed on a joke and had to recover quickly. If you can’t laugh at your own expense why the fuck are you in a comedy club?

  2. fuck o.p., i get more of a chuckle, watching someone’s pants fall down. but more of a rise, if it is a female’s.

  3. If the comedian show was held in North Preston or Spryfield, the comedian would just shoot the audience.

  4. Damn! In that case, why couldn’t the show be at Menz Bar when you’re there?
