Glad that strike wasn’t a total waste of everyone’s time. I guess it wasn’t important enough to finish. I wonder if you would have accepted a pay cut and no more overtime to afford more staff so you wouldn’t have to work so hard sometimes. You might be busy some days but the truth is you are paid very well to take two- to three-hour naps during night shift and have time to text your boyfriends and order pizza, so stop your whining and do the job you signed up for. -Michael Corleone

Sign me up! 2-3 hour naps on nights? On what unit does this occur? I’ve been working for 12 years and have yet to have an hour of anything to myself at work. And incidentally, you have no idea what you’re talking about there OP. I could take the time to school you, but you’re clearly an idiot, and it would be a waste of all my expendable free time.

I dunno, I’m conflicted. My dad spent some time in the hospital in intermediate care and he had a dedicated nurse in-room with him and one other person (there was a nurse’s station in the room)… but, despite only having two patients, dad was pretty much left to starve because he was too sick to realize he HAD to eat. Their solution was to leave a bottle of boost on his tray… which would have been ok if he had the actual strength to open the bottle (he literally couldn’t open a bottle of boost). So my mom and I had to switch off and come in and spoon feed him, he was that sick — I came in at lunch and she came in after work.
Yes, they were nice and took decent care of him, otherwise, but I just can’t forget how they would have let my dad starve rather than make sure he actually ate (I’m sure they could’ve arranged to have him fed through his IV if they had’ve taken the time to notice he wasn’t eating).
