Look, Bridge. I threw in three perfectly usable quarters and you didn’t want them. I checked to make sure they weren’t American quarters or weird ones with commemorative symbols or what-have-you, just three regular 25-cent pieces. But nooo, my money’s not good enough. Enough with your greed. —Rejected

I vending machine did that to me yesterday, so I punched it in the face and it gave me two Pepsis as an apology.
I’ve put a commemorative coin through…. the hockey ones with red in them.
didn’t have a choice as it was my last one…
and luckily it worked.
That said, I’ve also seen it reject a perfectly good quarter as well so I’m not sure what’s up with that. just go forward and bump the bar so it goes up.
MacPass…..get one.
not until they go up to a dollar a crossing
There needs to be a booth that caters to idiots too stunned or cheap to buy a MacPass, once through the booth they go onto a special ramp straight into the harbour.
I’m still working on segregating tourists, but as it’s winter and still plenty of time for another 2% increase to the HST thereby killing off any tourists, I can take my time.
You guys stop and make sure your change is accepted??? I thought it was common knowledge that you just chuck 3 quarter like objects into the bin and keep driving whether the gate moves or not.
So much for being toll-free. Guess no-one remembers THAT press release a few eons ago…
Sometimes machines that take coins (bridge terminal, vending machines) just don’t accept coins once in a while. The vending machine at my work in a BITCH. Every single time I’ve used it, it spits at least one of the coins back to me or doesn’t read one I’ve put in. It just happens :)!
I’m impressed the vending machine apologized snoop. Well played.
Unfortunately the powers at the Canadian Mint have been playingwith the weight & thickness of the planchetts our coins are made of, as well as the material. So we have a hodge podge of variations…which screw up in some machines some of the time. I find dropping 3 quarters 1 at a time works best & I rarely get a reject.
macpass works!
Nanananananananananana Batman!…I mean MacPass!
my last comment got lost, again. what gives????
that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
I concur. And yes, MacPass.
Sometimes i think the Yanks are purposely leaking their currency in to Canada to be used by Canadians with the intention of undermining the strength of the dollar. A small amount adds up.
