To the teen mom on the 1-Spring Garden yesterday. Let me remind you that a) your stroller was big enough to accommodate a full grown adult, and b) it’s COURTESY seating for those who NEED it. Don’t give me gull because I had no where to move on an already crammed bus, and claim that you need the seat. Your baby is sitting, he’s fine. You are fully capable of standing (for the entire 10 minutes you were on the bus). Put the damn breaks on your stroller, and quit using your baby as a cop-out. —Nowhere to move

  1. Well OP, chances are very good that you are paying for Junior’s huggies, Mommy’s menthols and Daddy’s bail so you can see how she may have thought she had a claim to your seat as well. >; )

  2. Are not strollers, by their very name, meant for walking the baby? Carriers would be more appropriate (and considerate) for those on busses. Oh, wait. We live in the age of entitlement. ‘Nuff said.

  3. you know o.p., i think that you might be partly right about these hummer sized fucking rigs. i can see a time coming, very soon, that metro transit will be saying no more strollers period, on any bus. and who do you curse at then, the fucking idiots that buy something 5 sizes too large for their kid, and hope they will grow into it. but they start walking, and then, there is no need for it anymore, after about 2 years or so.
if you reading, as a parent have one of these things, consider those that have to take buses daily, and not once in awhile. they are too big to make other people comfortable with them, and take up too much room. metro transit should start charging if it is bigger than an umbroller, that will fucking teach them to buy those honking great beasts.

  4. I could not agree more! Those stupid SUV strollers clog the aisles for people getting on or off. And the entitlement now a days is just, IMO, disgusting..

  5. Hahaha…. and I was missing all the bitches about larger than legal strollers blocking the aisles in busses. It seems like summer was YEARS ago……..

  6. grrr…today on the 14 from spring garden to mumford, there were TWO strollers sitting directly across from each other. when my friends and i, and everyone else, tried to get on the bus, the strollers couldn’t move far enough apart to adequately let people squeeze through. and the mothers just sat there staring at everyone…even when people complained. and the bus driver did nothing…these strollers were HUGE!!! aren’t they supposed to be able to take their kids out and fold them up???

  7. HA! LS you obviously haven’t seen all the fat little five year olds I have being pushed around in strollers on the streets/malls of HRM. Frig go to the McDonalds at any Walmart and you’ll see a plethora of them, usually with pajama-bottom-wearing-in-public moms.

  8. Teen Mom. That explains it all. I guess she failed the sex ed class on teenage pregnancy and birth control.

  9. Is having babies in high school some big trend I obviously missed back in the day? These girls all seem to look the same and travel in packs with their spawn. Are all the cool kids doin’ it or something?

  10. Well, I was pregnant in high school back in the day. It didn’t stop me from being a responsible working parent who raised a child who also posseses a strong sense of values and responsibility. So much for stereo-types!

  11. There are OBVIOUS exceptions here, OC. It just seems as though these days girls get pregnant because their friends are because it seems like some cool awesome thing to do and they end up doing nothing with their lives. I mean, I constantly see four and five smart mouthed, grubby looking teen moms hanging out with their suv-sized strollers at bus terminals. Why is that? Why are so many in the same social circles getting knocked up in high school?

  12. Girls are not getting pregnant because it’s a cool thing to do, you MUUUST be kidding, you can’t possibly think that..

  13. no, not a cool thing to do, just stupidity is all. teens getting banged and preggers while in the grade 6 or 7 era now. yeah, it is harsh, but hey, bet they all come from one general area too. i won’t say where, but have a good idea. i know of at least 10 from there. and of course, baby’s daddy is a slacker too, and selling dope on the side.
ah the days of wine and lionel.

  14. I am a young mom (22) and felt extremely guilty the few times I had to take my mammoth stroller on the bus luckily it was never overcrowded! Please keep in mind when babies are small they need to be in the larger type of stroller so they are safe. My stroller had the snap in carseat attachment which made it impossible to fold up also if us moms are traveling alone we need the stroller for our huge diaper bags full of changes of clothes exta blankets etcetera. I always wear my baby if I have a travel companion willing to lug my bag or am just going to visit someone but if you are going shopping or running errands those bulky ass strollers are necessary! Please don’t be too quick to judge moms, it’s not always convenient for us either and women like me at least feel bad about being in your way 🙁
