Lately I go to the Tim’s at lacewood plaza and it’s a circus. One side of the place is women, the rest of it is men of the same nationality. Noisy, noisy noisy. About 10% of them have a beverage. One table has 8 guys playing dominos, but they slam the tile down on the table! ¡!very annoying. Bunch of kids running around. Just don’t expect a civilized environment. Is this what we can expect as their public behavior. Get a keurig and invite some friends over. —my breaks are important to me

Hey Poprah good opinion. Well thought out. Got any hot takes on men’s rights and ‘reverse racism’? But for sake of argument, maybe they were talking about a bunch of Swedish Nationals. It isn’t clear, nor does it need to be to be racist in my opinion. You’ll notice I am calling you out on your bullshit as an individual and not as a white man.
The reality is that for a lot of fats food outlets their best profit margin is from the drive thru. There’s no tidying up to be done after drive through customers. That’s why you see so many staff over by the window shovelling their product into waiting cars. The restaurant probably doesn’t really care that much abut the seating area if they have a steady line of traffic.
And if the restaurant owners don’t like their space being turned into a social gathering spot then it’s up to them to deal with it. It’s not up to customers to police it. Besides, there are just as many white seniors who spend long periods nursing a coffee at fast food joints. And more power to them all – seniors, students, immigrants… More people should be getting out and socializing rather than sitting home alone.

Sorry, son, no victim here, and I never said that white people are/were victimized. All I said was, you don’t get to yell bigot at someone for pointing out people’s poor behavior, regardless of their “nationality”. Just because you are a minority, or a majority for that matter, doesn’t give you some sort of immunity when it comes to poor behavior. Rereading this bitch, I actually realize that the nationality is not mentioned at all. I had assumed Latin American because of the domino’s and the lots of kids.
Cool, can you get them to switch with the Starbucks up the road? I’d prefer that to the people taking up four seats with their shit while they write their fucking books and nurse a single coffee for six hours, and clicking tiles would be a nice change from the unending shrill harpy screams of the university kids discussing what overpriced thing they bought.
It does not matter what nationality these people are. The fact is they are taking up space for hours on end without purchasing drinks or meals, causing unpleasant visits for other legitimate consumers who only want a while to relax with their beverage and or meal. The next time just ask to see the manager and make a legitimate complaint. I wouldn’t care if they were white, black, green, or yellow with purple polka dots. If this was a continual thing at a tim’s I would frequent I would certainly bring it to the attention of the manager. Thankfully for me I do not frequent such establishments very often and when I do it is because I am usually travelling.
So where should they hang out, drink coffee and make noise in Clayton Park? The Library? The overpriced Canada Games Centre? Sheesh, people enjoying life and someone complains! There is plenty of seating at that Tim’s….who cares if they stay there for a few hours.
I bet junebug would care if he /she got there and there was no room for him/her to sit and enjoy their treats and the place was filled with non consuming domino or go fish playing loafers for hours on end taking all the seats away from product purchasing patrons. Just sayin’.
