What is with the secret sponsers who “gave back” $230K for the ill-fated ATV’s for kids fiasco…
Who gives away that amount of money and does not expect something of greater value in return?
If there is a requirement for political donations to be publicly disclosed, why not with this type of highly irregular payment…
It just looks like another throwback to the heydays of cronyism and kickbacks that has become part of our NS heritage…

I do believe perhaps Rodney’s pen had something to do with that cheque…or maybe the bright light who bought the things int he first place…you know, some sort of under-the-table punishment for being idiots.

well it’s getting crowded under there lately…..
My guess is these anonymous corporate sponsors are getting beautiful tax rebates, etc for their generosity. If they were truly giving, all the money would come immediately. Instead, the NS taxpayer is stuck paying interest on the purchase until 2010. God knows how long we’ll be paying interest in the form of rebates/writedowns for the corporate sponsors.
