GTFO. Enough is enough. This is a space for EVERYONE and you hippies are camping out there. Yes, great, wonderful cause. I totally, entirely support this movement… But it’s time to MOVE. Continue your protest, but stop using the space as your campground. Go back to your apartments, your homes, your couch surfing, etc! Give me a break Halifax. I’m tired of your pretentious, stuck-up behaviour. —BITCH

Reading their blog is an interesting experience. There are the obvious trolls stating “No fuckin’ way we’re moving for a bunch a baby killers” At least, I hope to hell those are just trolls.
Then there are the ones who think that acceding to the mayor’s thoroughly reasonable request to move to another area would constitute a form of “Civil Obedience” (?) and is therefore a betrayal of the “cause”. How they respond to this is going to illustrate better than any placard, chant or 30second CBC soundbite just how seriously they deserve to be taken
stop showering, start bathing in last nights leftovers and tuna…
stop brushing your teeth…
basically make yourself as putrid as possible…
and then go hang out there.
they can’t ask you to leave, it’s public space and they are FAR from an official of any kind.
to get them out, you’ll need to not only stoop… but completely outdo their level.
Couldn’t agree more. I saw Kelly on CBC Toronto last night (Evan whats his name tried pretty hard to dig up some dirt and create some sort of link with Oakland and their police warfare – unsuccessfully of course)…
And that was probably the best interview I’ve ever seen Kelly do. Completely reasonable requests – and if you can’t give a day up for holocaust survivors and veterans, you don’t deserve the right to protest at all!
OB, those granola stoners won’t leave until the pot runs out. I hope they get kicked out. It looks awful there…a bunch of fucking lazy, useless squallers. If they want to protest, ship them off with the military to some place far away.
Right. They owe their right to drum circle on that land to the Veterans who sacrificed so much, often all.
It’s very reasonable to ask and expect them to move so the area can be deloused and used for Nov11.
There’s always going to be a selection of “pinko commie fag” and “baby killer” rhetoric in things like this. Best to ignore because it’s only meant to distract and unflame, ensuring nothing productive is ever done.
They need to go to work. They dislike the corporate world but are perfectly happy skimming off the 30 percent ripped from our hands every two weeks.
That money is meant for the sick, assholes.
I support the movement, but they need to realize that they shouldn’t be F’N with the Veterans. They should send out a public statement saying they are moving to the commons for 5 days out of respect for our forces who gave us the freedom to protest in the first place. Then they can move back.
SIMPLE.

If not for you. I agree also I think there is some other ceremony regarding the Holocaust or something also. It may go along way for their cause if they move and show some respect, if they put up a stink it could get nasty an I would bet the majority will side with the Veterans, considering it’s on their backs this group have the right to protest.
Dammit!!

There we go.
It will be quite sad if the protesters or someone who’s coming to the ceremony start arguing and cause a scene on Remembrance day.. I would feel embarrassed for the whole city.
In all the coverage I’ve yet to see anyone from the local business community interviewed, specifically someone who owns a business downwind of these scumbags. They must be using someone’s toilets, washrooms etc, or are they pissing and puking in the streets/doorways somewhat like the students do down by the shit escrow?
Call out the fire department, hose them down a little and then make them relocate to Seaview park.
is this all we’ll be seeing for next few days. fuck me all, this bunch are moving, soon.
I support the cause, but seems to me it’s just a bunch of people down there pretending they are from the sixties. What are the main points of protest? What progress have they made? I think Remembrance Day was a totally reasonable request that shouldn’t even have to be requested in the first place. If they want respect, they should show some.
i hope there’s no violence, things have been civilized up to this point. there was a bit of a brouhaha with the mohawk flag but the *campers* should decamp
