Your numerous administrative positions (that I see advertised online every day) will never be filled unless you’re willing to pay more than $10-12/hour and/or are NOT asking for applicants to have 4-5 years experience!
I have news for you: those candidates with the experience you ask for will not apply at your company for that shitty wage! —New Uni Graduate with Less than 4-5 yrs Experience Looking for Work

graphic artists need not apply, unless you plan to paint lines on the road, as a friend was told 3 years ago.
Wages here suck. That’s why everyone’s out west.
Corporate recruiters not absolutely entranced by those 4 years of interpretive dance and 2 years of tap? Someone please, call W-5
lol interpretive dance and tap…..how about all those costume studies grads? they’d be great to have for Halloween at Glow Parties.
The point is that you should be applying anyways… ESPECIALLY if they aren’t getting the candidates they want. They’ll take what they can get in that you have what they need, just a little less (or no) experience.
Really, it doesn’t hurt to apply….
Hmm, did you ever think op, that maybe, just maybe, there are other jobs at that same employer that pay, oh, I don’t know, $16-$20 per hour that you may get six months after working there? And that THOSE ones never get advertised, because they promote from within? Give it a try, nothing bad can come from it…and oh, you may actually gain some relevant work experience at the same time.
$10-12 an hour? For admin, that’s not so bad. If you expect to make more doing that, you’re living in a dreamworld. Higher paying admin jobs are extremely rare and they usually require way more than five years experience. There’s so many people out there that can do that kind of work. Four or five years experience isn’t hard to come by for anyone who’s worked in offices even as temps. If you want more money, guess you should’ve trained in something that has less competition for you.
It’s funny how the children of parents who paid for their university degree ( probably a somewhat obscure one that was never meant to give you job related experience or skills ) expect to start out at the top of the pay scale. Welcome to the real world honey, where sometimes you might even have to save up to buy groceries.
