Your prices are ridiculously high, your food mediocre at best and the service is so fucking slow, it made me wonder if the cook was running around the kitchen trying to kill my meal. Unfortuantely, the dumbfuck tourists will suck it all up.

  1. no hints here?
I live downtown and don’t have any idea which you’re talking about.
Also, I’d LOVE it if the cook killed my meal and cooked it fresh to order! but I doubt that’s what was happening here…

  2. Probably the new “irish” place. They just opened. never go to a place that just opened.

  3. wow, that hint didn’t even help me.
I’m going to have to start reading more of the coast than just this section.

  4. Someone should tell them that their online menu isn’t working. All I got was pictures of food and the .pdf is blank.

I am honestly wanting to go there (after they get the bugs out) because an alternative to Henry House, Old Triangle, and that place on the Dartmouth Waterfront would be nice.

  5. Cranky, you should try Elephant & Castle as well.

I had the same problem with their menu, good to know theres pictures of mussels, but I was hoping for a bit more info.

  6. When I went into the aforementioned Purdy Smelley’s, it took me 40 minutes to get my beer and nearly an hour for $7 soup that filled half a bowl. My buddy got these gross fish and chips – extremely well done with a dozen or so fries – $15. Service was fucking awful, slow, slow, slow even though the place was less than half full. Never again. E & C is a much, much better deal.

  7. Look, the first time I went to Eat and Fit it was only open a week or two and it took me 45 minutes of my 30 minute lunch break to get a pita, leaving me -15 minutes to actually eat it. Since then they’ve ironed out the bugs and things are cool. They’re still in business so that must mean something. I learnt my lesson, now learn yours: wait a month or more before trying out a new place. duh
