To the 3 young males on the 18 Saturday night, what you guys did, though technically not illegal, was morally wrong. Let me start from the beginning:

I pulled up to a bus shelter and noticed some stuff laying on a bench inside the shelter with no one around. I pulled over and started rooting through this stuff with the intention of handing it all to lost and found. As I was doing this, one of you came from the back of the bus, out the front door, and started asking me what the stuff was (there were a couple of action figures, a computer game, and a universal remote). As I’m answering, you take it and assumed (incorrectly) when I said I was going to put it in lost and found that it was now yours. As you exited the bus later on, you said to me, “Thanks for the Kill Bill stuff!”

Hindsight being what is, I should have stood up for this invisible person and refused service until I got the goods back. Sadly I did not so I shoulder a lot of the blame for someone not getting stuff that no doubt had value to them. To that person, if you’re reading this, I’m sorry.

To the 3 males who decided there was nothing wrong with taking the stuff, even after I asked you to return it when you got off the bus: I curse you to a life of leaving stuff behind and having it go “missing”. Only then will you know what it’s like. I hope my ability to curse actually exists. —Your friendly neighbourhood PDG

  1. that was a waste of your time writing this bitch o.p. why, because they are little douchebags and only want to score something for free. happens everyday, and people just say okay. should have told him to identify shit, and if not, go to lost and found, or just fuck off period.

  2. Why would you need to pull up to a bus shelter then pull over and start rooting through some sh!t on a bench?

Leave what isn’t yours alone and there wouldn’t be the need to b!tch about much at all.

  3. Koda, he’s a bus driver and was going to take it to the lost and found. Sorry, OP, that you didn’t manage to grab it back. I hope your cursing works.

  4. PDG is our resident Metro Transit Driver. Property left in a bus shelter is probably treated the same as property left on a bus. He was attempting to be professional, responsible and considerate; why the situation turned out the way it did is a matter for the resident Monday morning quarterbacks. No doubt PDG is asking himself the same questions.

  5. Ooops, didn’t realize the poster was a bus driver. With this information it appears he was doing his job and what the guys did was actually theft.

  6. I wrote this more as an apology to the owner of the stuff for not having a spine at that moment than anything. It wasn’t worth much monetarily but that kind of swag has sentimental value for sure. It was left on transit property so it should have went to lost & found, not to some greedy trio.

  7. and how is this “though technically not illegal,”?
    sounds like theft to me.

just because it’s laying there doesn’t mean it’s free game.

I don’t know how many episodes of cops they show where they plant a bike on a corner leaning on a light post with no lock and then bust whomever steals it…. all day long.
