Last night(wednesday night – dec 19 around 6:30) I was walking by a pizza place and glanced into the window located on the side door. One of the employees was SMOKING a cigarette in the back of the kitchen! GROSS! Just because its frickin cold outside doesn’t make it ok to smoke indoors! Esp in a place where food is prepared! This is totally discusting and Soooooo wrong! You won’t catch me eating that ash tray pizza ever ever again

Hey man, it’s not such a big deal! What would you rather see: some fella smokin’ in the back of the kitchen….or a fella pickin his nose, which I’m willing to bet is alot more commonplace!! Bit dirtier too, man!! Dont forget, people in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s ate in restaurants too, where smokin’ in the kitchen was commonplace! Most of us are still around, hey. Back in my day we could smoke in highschool! During exams!! How freekin’ cool is that??? Man oh man, those were the good ol’ days!!

Hey Herbie…Go take a visit to the Cancer wards at the hospital…I bet you find a bunch of people with the same opinion as you there..but you won’t find them here…take your cancer peddling elsewhere. No you won’t get mad cow or MRSA from cigarettes (unless you share a smoke with someone carrying MRSA) but you will get emphysema and COPD and cancer and oh yeah you will smell like a bag of shit too!
Yeah, yeah, yeah Christopher! I may have smelled a bit smokey at times (the ladies sure never minded!!) but I haven’t smoked for 8 years, man. Still, if you ask me, smelling like a fresh lit Cohiba is way the heck better than smelling like you sprayed an entire 500ml can of that cheap pefume ‘Impulse’ shit all over your bod! People must fucking bathe in the shit before they get on the bus!!! You don’t think that migrane inducing crap causes cancer? Maybe it hasn’t been discovered to yet, but I bet to fuck it will..give it time man!! There’s no harm in me remembering the good ol’ days, so chill out Chrisalid. Ya, I’m just saying that there’s worse things to catch someone doing in a kitchen, alright?
I dont even want my imagination to take a trip down that road, because some people are fucking dirty bastards with filthy habits. If I looked in a restaurant window and saw 2 naked folk shagging on the prep counter, or the chef scratchin his ass with a pair of tongs down his pants, well lemme just say i’d never get over it. A guy having a smoke, I can live with.
PPS: And Christopher, dont ye go accusing me of peddling cancer just because I was talking about how nice it was back in the day to smoke freely. I bet if you went strolling down Spring Gargen on a hot, sunny, summer day and the mayor offered you an ice cold beer to carry along with you,and told ya it was legal, you’d happily go. So suck me!
Hey I probably would take that beer…but that beer wouldn’t waft out of the bottle and cause cancer in someone walking by. I get you on the never getting over it part too, so please please never look beyond the kitchen door of quite a few restaurants in Halifax, you really wouldn’t get over it…I have witnessed some heinous things in many a restaurant kitchen. Yes you are right I too would rather see someone smoking than any of the other nasty things you have offered…I too would be quite scarred for life after seeing any of those shenanigans occur while my food was being made! Smoke or ImpulseAxe, they both stink to me!There were a few exams back in the day that I probably wished I could have a smoke during (when I smoked) and it yes it probably would have been great! These are very different days we live in for sure. I remember the year I went out to live in the Yukon, it was the first year they made people in that province wear seat belts! Man people were PISSED…I had thought it all quite hilarious as NS had enforced seat belts for quite some time and it was 2nd nature for me to use them.
Well……I would still like to know the offending pizza shop. If smoking in the kitchen is ok by management, what else flies too? Keep in mind we still do not have easy access to the health reports.
