First of all I know that technically I was in the wrong here but come the fuck on! You knew that there was a wedding going on and chose to start pulling cars over for fucking seatbelt violations. Half of the people that were supposed to go and be in pictures and take pictures and all the other fun stuff that is supposed to happen on a very happy day was ruined because you had to flex your muscle upon the world for whatever reason… You set up a fucking roadblock at the end of a driveway at a golf course. The fucking beeping noise in the car to put your seatbelt on still hadn’t turned the fuck off when you, as you put it, “observed me trying put my belt on”. The 60 year old lady behind me who is on a very fixed income also loves the $164.50 fine imposed on her as well because now she has the lovely choice of wet or dry no name catfood to eat because she didn’t want to wrinkle her dress for the pictures. I’m sure that you will be happy to know that nobody drove drunk that night because nobody there felt like partying after your needed showing of authority on the mean golf courses of Bridgewater. It must’ve been quota day was it? Well thank you RCMP for ruining a lot of peoples weekend on what was supposed to be a great time and to the town of Bridgewater….FUCK YOU, I for one will never come back to Nova Scotia’s asshole again. Here’s to hoping that a huge fucking sink hole takes that whole town off the face of the earth. I believe in karma Constable, and I believe that karma is a fat, smelly, pig of a bitch that strikingky resembles your wife, so good luck in future endeavors and keeping the streets clean of respectable people dressed up in their Sundays best running amuck taking pictures of smiling happy families. I mean, who the hell needs those type of people when you can be overrun with real crime and sit idly by. I guess the government doesn’t get enough of my money already. Fuck man I can see if I had a poor driving record littered with tickets and warnings but there is absolutely nothing on my record because I am a careful driver ( I was a passenger when I got this ticket), so you would think that the first time being questioned by an officer would result in a warning but no fucking way…….FUCK……$164.50……FUCK…..FUCK!
P.S. To the cab driver who later on tried to take us the $20.00 route back to the hotel when we were all sober enough to know that this wasn’t the regular $10.00 route, FUCK YOU too. Stuttering and stammering when we called you on it like there was two hotels in Bridgewater with the same name in the same area. Maybe you would’ve gotten away with it if it wasn’t for the prick who ruined our night to begin with.

Saturday MUST have been quota day. I saw quite the little RCMP operation on the overpass just before the Wolfville exit on Saturday. A plain clothes person with the radar (coulda been a cop, could have been a hobo they put up there to look inconspicuous) was standing on the edge of the overpass rcalling on his radio to a team of atleast four cars on the onramp telling them who to pull over. We passed atleast three cars pulled over and there were more up on ramp waiting for a chance to play with their lights and drive fast. As fun as it would be to try and chase cars on the highway, I woulda been pissed. But, you know, if you are careful you can avoid speeding tickets all together. Just use common sense… see a turnaround coming up on the divided highway, assume there is a cop hiding in it. Usually you can see them miles away and slow down in time or drop the phone.Good Luck!
Fucking idiot police must have been at it over the weekend in Cape Breton, too. I know of 2 high-speed chases in CBRM that “went bad” and ended up causing high-speed rollovers. I mean, I know the person being chased should have stopped, but really…..the police are putting EVERYBODY at risk when they partake in these high-speed chases of suspects.
I’m sorry, but do you really expect people to show you any sympathy? You broke the law. Period. It’s unfortunate this happened on a day of celebration, but if you had been abiding by the law you wouldn’t have a problem. You have no one to blame but yourself.
Whether its against the law or not it was in poor taste to ticket someone who is part of a wedding party. Police always give out warnings and this would have been the time to use that privilege.That being said, it sounds like the police were eyeing this wedding for some reason. I am curious why.

Perhaps they could have created a whole lot of happy seat-belt wearing people, with a friendly neighbourhood police reminder about safety.Laws should be there to serve a purpose not as a money grab. If the law is truly to prevent people being hurt it shouldn’t matter how that was accomplished, whether it be from friendly warning or ticket.It worries me alittle that most of the posters are so eager to goose-step to “the law’s the law” mantra. We should never stop questioning the validity of laws; we should clean out the books fairly regularly; and be willing to see exeptions.In a somewhat related scenerio, the parents who were forced to take down the treehouse in BC were called “bad parents” by the judge, because fought the regulations instead of cow-towing to the court.(a neighbour complained about the treehouse prompting a legal fight). Really? Really? That’s what are courts think is bad parenting? How about rewarding them for teaching their kids to question silly decisions, and try to present another logical perspective in a healthy, legitamite way (thru the courts). I guess society and the courts now admonish anyone who dare questions the system.

Had I been the cop, I proabbaly would have just warned everyone and wished them well, but the the OP would have been on bitching about being held up, and how they had to miss the cake cutting, after all they were in a wedding;What I don’t like is how people think an exception should be made for their personal case, and how dare someone enforce a law against them.164.50 is a cash grab. plain and simple. I have read about the treehouse incident. and it really is a shame it went how it did.

I grew up in Bridgewater and happily moved away and never went back! The cops there are RACIST assholes who have nothing better to do than harass people who are not from Lunenburg County. I still have ZERO respect for the police in that town. Oh, and on a side note….the Bridgewater Police Dept is well known for “accidentally misplacing confiscated” pot. The two-faced bigots that they are probably sold it undercover to the redneck inbred children of Caledonia, New Germany, and Hebbville. They’ve been investigated by the RCMP but the findings are NEVER released for some odd reason.
